🌟 Tribute Tuesday Honoring Alan Everidge 🌟
Today we celebrate Chief Alan Everidge and recognize his decades of service to the Perry community.
Chief Everidge began his law enforcement career in 1987, spending the majority of his service with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. During his career there, he served in the patrol and traffic divisions and as an investigator in both the juvenile and criminal investigations divisions. Later, he was promoted to Major and served eight years as Jail Administrator before retiring from the Sheriff’s Office.
In 2021, Chief Everidge joined the Perry Police Department as Patrol Commander and was named Interim Police Chief in July 2022. Perry Mayor and Council officially appointed him as the City’s Police Chief during their January 3, 2023, council meeting.
Chief Everidge holds an associate and bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Public Administration. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and participated in the Georgia Law Enforcement International Exchange Program in Israel.
Having grown up in Perry and raised his family here, Chief Everidge’s dedication to the city runs deep. Many see him as having a heart for the community and a genuine desire to serve the people of Perry. As he shared, his goal is simple and meaningful: to help ensure Perry remains a great place to live, work, and play.
