Let me introduce you to this beautiful soul, Shatasha Mitchell. 18 years ago Shatasha was in a car accident that left her a T7 paraplegic and wheelchair bound. We met Shatasha almost 3 years ago when she came to Perry Spine and Wellness - Physical Therapy because of back pain and we fell in love with her energy, joy, perseverance, and positivity immediately. Over a year ago, Rewalk Robotics provided her with an Exoskeleton to allow her to try to walk again and she asked Dave to help her with it. For over a year and hundreds of hours, thousands of steps, a few stumbles, lot of sweat, determination and hardwork she and Dave have worked so hard to get her to a place of independence. And although there is still room to grow, after 18 years of not walking, today she was able to participate in the Perry Dogwood Festival 5k!!! It was the most perfect morning to see her achieve this feat. Yโall this woman is a writer, lover of Christ, and a licensed counselor who helps people off the ledge dailyโฆwhile standing on the edge of hers. She is truly INSPIRATIONAL.
We are so insanely proud of you Shatasha! It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of your journey. Canโt wait to see you in your next race!!
