The beauty of Bangladesh 🌺

I asked my body to partner with me on a grand adventure. Over the past week I tried new lentils and curries, sapodilla, shaaka, brinjal, chilies and pumpkin prepared in new-to-me ways, and every syrupy vogh sagor offered. I ate when I would have been asleep in the US. I sat, as requested, in a seat of generous hospitality most of the day. I used Uber to order my own car in Dhaka! (IYKYK) My body pivoted and flexed and was my ally the entire trip. She's never failed to show up for the next adventure.

Dieting has become so normalized that many assume it is perfectly safe and without risk. As Ramadan continues, if you are navigating this decision, or have already started fasting but are now questioning if it is safe for you:

• You deserve support.
• You deserve nuance.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Some may fast with clinical guidance. Some may delay fasting. Some may choose alternative forms of worship. Recovery and spirituality are not mutually exclusive.

Bethany and Sara were invited to put on workshops at The Athlete. Mental Health Summit yesterday and Michelle was invited to speak 1:1 in a mentor style session with athletes, parents, coaches, athletic directors, school counselors and teachers. The Mental Health Summit aims to explore what it means to take care of the whole athlete, highlighting Person before Performance.
