As your constituent, I urge you to cosponsor the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act (H.R. 879). Independent private practice will NOT survive continued payment cuts. The 2025 Medicare cut reduced private practice funding for the 5th year in a row. This cut, compounded with no inflationary adjustment since 2004 while the cost of goods (staff pay, supplies, rent, utilities, insurance, etc.) to operate an independent office skyrocket, will be the death knell for excellent private medical care. Medicare patients are our most vulnerable and deserving population, and they desperately need access to care. Please help private practice doctors continue to serve their patients and your voters.
