This week, the world lost a beautiful soul, and the heavens gained an angel forever.
Amy came into my life just a few months after my Momma left this world in late 2018. She was a breath of fresh air and filled me and the whole shop with hope for the future. She was a kind hearted person and one who made you feel heard and seen always, and as a massage therapist, held enormous compassion for all people, not only just her clients. She made me a better human and therapist everyday I was in her presence, and I believe a lot of people felt that way, too. She was so dedicated to her gift of helping people. Her keen massage skills were expanding and beautifully evolving when she had that first fateful seizure while performing a session in May of 2023. Life changed immediately and would never be the same again.
It is with great condolences to Amy’s family and loved ones, that I share the sad news of Amy’s passing with former clients and those who may still follow this page. ♥️
Rest peacefully now, dear friend.

⚽️ Our YMCA soccer team, The Storm, finished second in the tournament last Saturday. We’re so proud of these kids and how much they’ve grown and improved this season. They were a great group of kids to work with and, as always with coaching, we enjoyed getting to know their families too.

THE SEASON OF LETTING GO

And so begins the season of letting go,
when Mother Nature shows us all,

Let go,

Create space for new thoughts, new ideas,
new adventures and new connections,
by shedding the dead weight you’ve been carrying around,
for so long.

And whilst you are there, being reborn and renewed,

Let go of any doubts, fears or beliefs which no longer serve you well.

Release bitterness or past hurts which feast on your beauty.

Be brave,

📣You might see some new signs in the yard at Body In Balance this week. Yep, my building is up for sale. This is a decision thats been heavy on my heart for a while.

A little history: I started practicing massage therapy in 2005. In 2011, after building up almost 100 fiercely devoted clients, I opened Body In Balance with the mission to employ multiple skilled therapists to help serve the massage needs of our community.

That was over 13 years and 12 talented Licensed Massage Therapists ago. I’ve had the joy of having my late Mother work alongside me in the office. Both of my daughters served internships, learned some bookkeeping, and became Master fitted sheet folders at my practice. They, and now my young son have grown up watching me build this business and learn about entrepreneurship.
Six years ago, my husband and I bought and renovated our building at 632 West Main Street, turning it into the beautiful facility it is today, on which we continue to get compliments 🥰 ( I love that! )

The skillful Therapists with whom I’ve had the pleasure to work throughout the years, have taught me so many priceless lessons. I was not only the “Boss” but a student, and I learned a lot from each of them; the good, the bad, the ugly, and even forged incredible friendships for life.

Of course, I couldn’t have done any of this without the support of my clients. Most have been with me for over 10 years, some have even been with me since my first day practicing in Peru in 2006! Throughout the years of conversations with my clients, I’ve learned so much about life, relationships, aging, etc. They, along with my trusted Therapists, have cared for me like family and allowed me the freedom of flexibility as I needed it. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to have had these relationships, if even for just a moment in time 💕

I am currently in the process of drastically scaling back my clientele. Former LMT’s of Body In Balance are successfully providing therapy in our community and I am happy to give out referrals to these fantastic Therapists, anytime.
I’ll continue to provide bodywork for my regulars at this location until it sells. This property is zoned for commercial or residential, so if you know anyone looking for either, feel free to send them mine and Stacia’s way!
