🍼 The Right Way to Mix Baby Formula

“Here’s something most parents don’t know 👶 — powdered baby formula isn’t sterile, even when sealed. That’s why it’s so important to boil the water first before mixing the formula.

🩺 Why it matters:
Boiling water kills harmful bacteria like Cronobacter that can be found in powdered formula. If you let the water cool before adding the formula, it may not get hot enough to kill those bacteria.

✅ CDC’s Recommended Steps:
1️⃣ Boil fresh water.
2️⃣ Pour the hot (but not boiling) water into the bottle.
3️⃣ Add the powdered formula and mix well.
4️⃣ Let the bottle cool to feeding temperature before serving.

This is especially important for:
👶 Babies under 2 months
💛 Premature infants
🩺 Babies with weakened immune systems
