Want to learn how to facilitate cooking and other healthy activities in town? Join us for a train-the-trainer workshop on Wednesday Nov 12, taught by the incredible Chef-K!

In this no cost, three hour session, participants will learn healthy recipes, techniques for small group cooking workshops, and more!

"Train the trainer" is a program that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to teach a specific subject or skill to others in their organization or their community.

This workshop is for anyone interested in learning basic food skills and healthy recipe ideas, with an additional desire to bring these skills to the community by teaching at least two workshops of their own in the future.

Happy Monday! 😀 Welcome to our Monday "Power 9 Series", where for the next nine weeks we will share a simple yet powerful lifestyle habit you can implement into your day to live a healthy, long life. Today we begin with "Move Naturally" 🚶‍♀️

The world's longest-lived people don't obsess over intense gym workouts or running marathons. Instead, they live in environments that constantly nudge them into moving without thinking about it. They go on walks, grow gardens, and don't use mechanical conveniences for house and yard work.

Have an example of how you can Move Naturally this week? Share in the comments! ⭐

What does volunteering look like TO YOU? 🤔

Sometimes when we hear the word "volunteer", instant visions come to mind of what it might mean... but what if you could rethink volunteerism? What if you could view volunteerism as a mutual benefit? What if it were a gift, talent, or passion of yours that others might enjoy? What if it were a way to connect and deepen a sense of belonging in the community? What if were all of these things?

Pictured here are three examples of what volunteering has looked like over the last few weeks!

From Event Tabling, to leading a Cooking Demonstration, to helping in our office, each community member shared their talent to support the greater good. We are grateful!

Sunday, November 2 begins the launch of four Intro-To-Pickleball Clinics in Petaluma!

These clinics are led by local volunteers and offered to players who have played only a few times or are brand new to the game. Space is limited to 12 players per clinic, and gear rental/borrowing is available during the clinics.

Please note this is not a continuous series - it simply provides four time options for those new to the game to sign up and learn!

We love this photo from our Sensory Awareness Forest Walk 10-week Moai, happening weekly right now in Petaluma! There is something so beautiful about a group of new friends coming together to Move Naturally in nature!

Led by Blue Zones Project Petaluma Ambassador Bruce Elliott, benefits of these walks include:

🌳 Cultivating mindfulness and being present in the moment
🌳 Enhancing the experience of taking walks in nature
🌳 Reducing anxiety and calming the hyperactive mind
🌳 Incorporating healthy deep breathing on daily walks

We hope you can get outside this week and enjoy nature!

Our 10-week Men's Group began last week, and in just two sessions it has already been powerful for all involved. 💙

Co-facilitated by Somatic Coach and Men's Group Facilitator Adam Christie, and Blue Zones Community Engagement & Marketing Lead Ethan Schiff, this group is focused on creating a safe space for men to connect with new friends, listen and share from a deep place of vulnerability. ✨

We are thrilled to have Life On Art as our Partner Organization hosting this group in their stunning space downtown. If you have not visited Life On Art, it is a must!

*Note: this group is Sold Out. If you would like to join a future Men's Group, please email ethan@bluezones.com
