Garrison’s Happy Ending! 🐾

Garrison’s journey to his forever home began quietly and uncertainly: he was found near a BART station, alone, before gently following a kind stranger home. That small act of trust changed everything. A Good Samaritan brought him to safety. Along the way we discovered he had once belonged somewhere, he’d been in the shelter system before, neutered and microchipped back in 2022.

Sadly, the contact information on his microchip led nowhere. No one came forward. For a while, Garrison was just waiting.

A few months ago, we welcomed him into our rescue from Oakland Animal Services. When he arrived at the ranch, something softened in him. With time, care, and patience, his sweet, gentle nature began to shine through, and everyone quickly fell in love with him.

Then, last week, everything changed.

A wonderful family discovered Garrison on our website and came to meet him. From the very first moment, there was a quiet connection, it simply felt right. And yesterday, he went home. 💛

After everything he’s been through, it’s incredibly special to know he is finally where he belongs: safe, loved, and no longer waiting.

🐾 We Need Your Help to Keep Saving Lives 💛

We’re proud to be a rescue partner with Stanislaus Animal Services, a shelter that takes in stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals from their community. They don’t get to choose who comes through their doors, they help the animals who need them most. The shelter is currently experiencing high demand and limited space, and like many shelters, they rely on adoptions, fosters, rescues, and community support to keep lifesaving efforts moving.

Every Monday, they post dogs who are most at risk and in urgent need of placement. Some are easy to adopt right away. Others may need training, confidence-building, decompression, or simply more time than a crowded shelter can give them.

That’s where we come in.

In just the past two weeks, we’ve already welcomed so many dogs into our care and today we are pulling four more large dogs from the urgent list. Because we found a foster for one dog, we were able to save another too. That’s how powerful fostering is.

🐾 The more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save.
🐾 The more donations we receive, the more medical care, food, and training we can provide.
🐾 The more volunteers we have, the more dogs get walks, enrichment, and love.

We may be a small rescue, but together we can make a big impact.

Giselle is a 1-year-old, 55 lb girl (likely an Anatolian Shepherd mix) that we rescued from the Kern County Animal Shelter. She has the sweetest, most easygoing personality and is incredibly well-balanced for her age, still playful, but with a calm, “old soul” energy that makes her such a special companion.

She’s already a total rockstar:
✨ Great on leash, loves walks, hikes, and dog-friendly outings
✨ Rides well in the car
✨ Dog-friendly, playful when invited, respectful when needed
✨ Crate trained and quiet
✨ House trained
✨ Gentle and great with kids
✨ Comfortable around ranch animals

Three little dogs, three second chances 💛

Luna, Fig, and Chicken are all looking for their forever homes and while they came from the same situation, they do not need to be adopted together.
Luna is the mom, and Fig and Chicken are two of her puppies.

✨ Luna (3 yrs, Maltese mix, 8 lbs)
A total cuddle bug who just wants to be your little shadow. She’s sweet, snuggly, and happiest as the only dog, soaking up all the love.

✨ Fig (just over 1 year)
Shy but incredibly sweet. She’s still learning that the world is safe and will blossom with a patient, loving home.

✨ Chicken (just over 1 year)
The most timid of the three, but so gentle and deserving. She’ll need time, understanding, and someone committed to helping her build confidence.

All three girls are learning what it means to live in a home, discovering toys, cozy spaces, and what it feels like to be safe. It’s been amazing to watch, and we know the right homes will help them continue to grow. 💛

Duke is a 2-year-old, ~58 lb Golden Retriever mix (we think with a little Gordon Setter) with a sensitive heart and a deeply loyal nature.

He may be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for his sweet, affectionate personality to shine. Duke is incredibly gentle, tolerant, and devoted—he’s the kind of dog who forms a strong bond and just wants to be close to his people. ❤️

Yesterday was supposed to be a 2-dog rescue…

But if you know Roxanne, you know that’s not how it went. ❤️

She went to the Stanislaus shelter to save two dogs on the euthanasia list, Leo and Irie (now Teddy). But while she was there, the shelter director gave her a tour… and everything changed.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Roxy’s Ranch Haven is now an official rescue partner with the Stanislaus shelter. 🤝

And then came the moment we couldn’t walk away from…

Two 4-month-old puppies at the very top of the euth list, Chip and Meadow.

Roxanne said yes.

So instead of two lives saved…
four dogs walked out of the shelter yesterday.

But this is the hard part...

Meadow’s siblings are still there.
And they are just as urgent.

If we had the fosters and support, we would bring them to safety too, but we can’t do it alone.

George & Georgina arrived at the Bakersfield Animal Shelter as strays, and staff quickly realized they were a bonded pair. The shelter tried to place them together, but bonded pairs are much harder to adopt - most people are only looking for one dog.

After spending a long time at the shelter and starting to show signs of kennel stress, we stepped in and brought them to the ranch so they could stay together. From the start, we made it our goal to find them a home as a pair.

Thankfully, a wonderful family saw them on Paul Heggen - Meteorologist s social media (thank you, Paul!) and came to meet them. It was an instant connection - and just like that, they were headed home.

We’ve already received photos of them settling in, and they look so happy and comfortable. We couldn’t be happier for George & Georgina. ❤️
