Movement is not only about physical health.

For many seniors, staying active is tied to confidence, social connection, independence, and mental well-being.

When seniors move less, it is often because of fear, loneliness, or depression, not just physical decline.

Recognizing these emotional barriers can help families better support their loved ones.

A lightning strike, a damaged tree, and a very eventful week in Oakmont.

The recent storm brought some unexpected damage to Oakmont, including the building where our Santa Rosa office is located. We were even mentioned in the Press Democrat’s coverage of the storm.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, and our team is still here doing what we do best: showing up for seniors and families in our community!

It’s National Sleep Awareness Week, but many family caregivers aren’t getting much sleep. When you’re caring for someone at home, nights are often spent checking on them, helping them move safely around the house, or listening for signs they might need help.

Those late nights can add up quickly.

Overnight caregivers can help families finally get some rest while their loved one stays safe.

If nighttime caregiving has become overwhelming, support is available.

Caregiving is becoming one of the biggest challenges facing families today.

• 63 million Americans are family caregivers
• 70% of adults over 65 will need long-term care in their lifetime

For many families, caregiving begins at home while balancing work, children, and other responsibilities.

Understanding the growing need for senior care and in-home caregiving support can help families plan ahead and ensure loved ones remain safe and supported.

Excellence in In-Home Care

Sequoia Senior Solutions, Inc. was founded in March, 2003 by its current owners, Gabriella Ambrosi and Stanton Lawson. The husband & wife team began offering services to seniors in Petaluma only. They worked out of the study in their home for the first few years until the volume of caregivers and clients reached a point that they needed to separate their business from their family and rented a small office space on Lynch Creek Way in Petaluma, just minutes away from their home and their three growing boys.

In 2007 Sequoia Senior Solutions, by then a company of less than 100 employees, acquired its largest competitor, Home Care Options, and overnight the company grew to over 300 caregivers. By then, its territory had grown to include all of Sonoma, Marin and Napa Counties. The acquisition of Home Care Options added Lake and Mendocino Counties to its growing service area and in 2009 Sequoia Senior Solutions expanded into Solano County as well.

Services Offered

As its name implies, Sequoia Senior Solutions offers a complete line of In-Home Care Services aimed at solving the one overriding fear that Seniors share: fear of being forced, either by their medical condition or by the insistence of their family members, to leave their homes and to move into an institutional setting, such as an Assisted Living or a Skilled Nursing Facility. We help seniors maintain the quality of life they have worked so hard to achieve, by finding innovative ways to resolve their non-medical concerns and refer them to medical providers when necessary.
