Welcome to The Center for Holistic Healing (CHH) where integrative Physical Therapy is fused with Medical Therapeutic Yoga for a “whole” person approach to healing and wellness with outstanding results. Whether you are suffering from an acute injury, chronic pain, or would like to perform wellness classes for the prevention of injury and disease, CHH offers a variety of classes and services to meet your needs. Dr. Lesley Allen, PT, PYT-C, Founder and Owner of this facility, has made it her mission to create a gracious space, free of judgment, where everyone is invited to begin or continue their yogic path with increased subtle body awareness and safe body mechanics. With its spa like environment based on Ayurvedic ("science of life" evolved in India) principals, all your senses will be balanced and engaged to promote physical and emotional well-being. At CHH, you will be greeted at the door with warm tea (if you wish) and encouraged to sit quietly with your breath until your private session or group class begins. Services offered at CHH:
•Private Integrative Physical Therapy services with the use of Medical Therapeutic Yoga as a modality for the management of acute or chronic injuries requiring one-on-one direct supervision.
•Group Therapeutic Yoga classes for the management of multiple health conditions
•Private and Group Yoga Wellness classes to perform yoga safely in order to improve their health, prevent injuries, and minimize risk of disease. The therapeutic yoga classes are instructed by highly educated, licensed Physical Therapists with additional teacher training in medical therapeutic yoga from the Professional Yoga Therapy (PYT) Studies Program in Emerald Isle, NC. With Physical Therapists' expertise in reducing pain and improving mobility given a variety of health conditions, in adjunct to extensive training in medical therapeutic yoga with over 900 hours for completion of the certification, they are able to evaluate and prescribe yoga as medicine at the highest standards. Therefore, the instructors at CHH are highly qualified to not only treat acute or chronic impairments, but also to modify yoga postures and prescribe sequences based on the therapeutic content given your current condition to ensure yoga is being performed in a safe manner and with respect to your body allowing maximum benefits. Everyone is welcome, no matter whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner. For beginners, especially those that have tried yoga classes before and felt lost or intimidated, education over body mechanics, pre-postures and postures is abundant. For those more experienced yogis, PYT specific principles (TATD breath, arm spirals, emphasis placed on disassociation of specific muscles) will be taught which will improve the safety of your current practice to minimize your risk of injury and increased stability within the poses to perhaps progress your practice when it has plateaued. With the welcoming and judgment free atmosphere, all body types are welcome. Because class sizes are small, poses and sequences can be individualized and modified based on each student's needs, condition, or body type. Each student will be met where they are with their yoga practice. Together, we grow.

This Thanksgiving, I’m so incredibly grateful for all of you who have followed along, supported DNA Doc, and been a part of this journey. 💛 This month, I’m celebrating 10 years in business—a milestone that feels both humbling and exciting.

The past decade has been filled with ups and downs, but I’ve never been more hopeful for the health of our nation. When I set out 10 years ago, I had no idea how to even run a business. What I did have was a mission: to change the face of our healthcare system.

Today, more and more people are recognizing the limitations of our “sickcare” model and seeking the root-cause solutions that functional medicine provides. This wasn’t the dream I envisioned for myself as I worked my way through college, but my own health journey led me exactly where I’m meant to be.
