‼️Important Update‼️
I want to share an important update regarding the recent EHV-1 situation affecting the equine community. For the safety of your horses and mine, I will be pausing all Shining M Therapy sessions for now.
Although Colorado does not currently have any confirmed cases, the situation in surrounding regions is incredibly concerning, and I would much rather play it safe than sorry. Taking early precautions is the best way to protect our equine community.
Because I travel from client to client, it’s essential that I do everything possible to prevent any chance of spreading illness—no matter how small that chance may seem.
➡️ If you have ANY concerns about your horse’s health, please stay home.
➡️ If your horse has recently traveled to Texas or any other area of risk, please stay home for now.
For the next couple weeks, I will also be not accepting any last-minute bookings unless your horse has had a complete veterinary check within the last 72 hours and has been fully cleared. This added measure helps ensure I am not unknowingly moving between exposed environments.
🌡️Temperature Monitoring at Home
Please check your horse’s temperature twice daily, especially if they:
• Were at the WPRA Finals
• Were at the 377 Arena
• Attended any large show or event in the past 14 days
A re**al temperature of 101.5°F or higher should be taken seriously. Contact your veterinarian immediately if you observe:
• Fever
• Nasal discharge
• Coughing
• Stumbling
• Any neurologic signs
I truly appreciate everyone’s understanding, honesty, and cooperation during this time. These precautions are temporary, but the safety of our horses is long-term and non-negotiable. 🩷
I will continue to share updates as information becomes available.
