RIP â A Farewell to Who She Used to Be
Today Iâm honoring a quiet, powerful moment â one I havenât been able to forget.
Not long ago, I had a check-in call with a client whoâs been doing deep, transformative work for the past several months. Before I could even ask how she was doing, she opened with this:
âIâm laying that part of me to rest. I donât need her anymore.â
There was no drama in her voice â only clarity, strength, and peace.
It stopped me in my tracks.
When she first came to me nearly seven months ago, she was constantly angry, on edge, and exhausted from trying to hold it all together. She didnât like how she was showing up â not for her family, not for her team, and not for herself. She heard too often how intimidating she was, how her employees felt uneasy bringing her problems. And she hated that. She knew something had to change, but didnât know where to start.
She reached out. She committed. She showed up. And she did the work.
Whatâs unfolded since is nothing short of remarkable. We got to the root â not just changing behaviors, but shifting beliefs and healing patterns that had been running the show for years. She learned how to respond instead of react. And in the process, she found her calm. Her clarity. Her power â the true kind.
Now, the people around her are noticing. Her family, her friends, even her employees â theyâre asking whatâs changed. They see her. They feel the shift. That kind of transformation doesnât happen by accident.
This is what it looks like to rise.
Not by pretending to be someone else. But by releasing who you no longer need to be.
I get to witness this kind of courage every day. Itâs the heartbeat of why I do this work. The path isnât always easy, but itâs worth every step. And the ripple effects â well, they speak for themselves.
So hereâs to the ones who are brave enough to choose differently.
To heal.
To lead.
To live fully aligned with who theyâre becoming.
If thatâs you â or if you're feeling the nudge â I see you.
Keep going. Youâre not alone.
