Hello everyone! With the holiday season here i would like to put a big ask out... As many of you know I work for Giving Austin Labor Support as the Storage Unit Coordinator & am the right hand with my boss in executing the FREE Bi-annual community baby showers we host 2x a year with Partners in Parenting
We have grown so much in the years I have worked for this non-profit organization. The need gets great every shower as the times get harder for families to try to give their kiddos the best with amazing starts.

I am asking anyone & everyone to dig deep and donate their items & time if they can. We need so many donations for not only our current clients in need but the upcoming spring shower & the other non-profit organizations we work alongside to ensure every family is given the opportunity of a beautiful start. Texas has the highest mortality rate for moms & babies and we are striving to ensure no one goes through this new journey alone. We all need a village of support, its the best way to survive and thrive in this world.

If you have gently used or new items for Pregnancy to age 2 PLEASE donate them locally( even kid consignment stores count) Don't give them to thrift stores which alot of the time trash them to landfills as they can't turn a real profit off them or deem them unsanitary.( We even take pumps, cloth diapers & bottles)

I also need as much help as I can get with sorting/bagging items in preparation once they are donated. And if anyone is interested in volunteering for the spring 2026 shower please reach out as well. We are able to offer signed community service hours.(Anyone under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while volunteering)

1st full workday day back to the storage unit after the last shower. Beginning the Collection of donations again as well as planning to prepare for the Spring 2026 GALS/PIP Bi-annual community baby shower. We keep growing bigger & better with each shower and we always strive to help as many families as we can.

Please reach out to us at donations@givingaustinlaborsupport.org if you have items you want to donate ; if you are interested in helping us by becoming (temporary/permanent) donation drop off sites or even want to do diaper/wipe Collection drives in support or event want to volunteer time to help sort/organize donations.

Last Friday Les & I got to dance, live karaoke & flat out have the best time showcasing our awesome costumes surrounded by my one of a kind work village at the GALS Disco Fundraiser . We won the costume contest with our Cheech & Chong outfits. Celebrating 17yrs of this this beautiful non-profit organization I am apart of . I never take much photos because once im there im always so in the moment networking and singing the praises of these selfless individuals im so proud to work alongside. I absolutely LOVE this organization & what it stands for within our community.

Because of them I didn't have to birth alone the second time around with my youngest who recently turned 11. This organization gave me power back when I felt defeated & powerless the 1st time around. I will always continously share my warrior goddess birth story that wouldn't have happened not it been for them. The fact that I get to be on the other side working to help Families by being the Storage unit Coordinator & helping make the free community baby showers possible always fills my heart with so much joy and pride for this opportunity. Thank you to all the sponsors and fellow organizations, businesses and birthworkers who came out. #

To anyone who wants to reach out about donations or how to help for our Spring 2026 shower. Please excuse us while we utilize this time to heal our inner goddess with peace, kindness and self love. We will be back even better but first we need to prioritize some well deserved self care.

Hey all! GALS (Giving Austin Labor Support) is a local non-profit that provides free doula support to under-supported families. We also host a FREE community baby shower twice a year with PIP(Partners In Parenting)

All the slots for the upcoming GALS/PIP FREE Community Baby Shower registration are completely booked- we have 450 FAMILIES REGISTERED. With that in mind, they need all the volunteers and donations they can get to meet the demands of so many families in need.

PLEASE sign up to volunteer by this Saturday, we need as many people as possible to make setup/ assistance throughout the shower and cleanup go as smoothly as possible. Link is in the comments.

If you know of anyone needing community service hours, they can provide the documentation once the volunteer time is completed.

As always, adding a 2nd big unit 1 month before the shower to house all these bigger donations keeps me on my toes. Got hand it to my freshman homeschooler getting his community service hours in today with some manual labor. Please continue to reach out to donations@givingaustinlaborsupport.org for all those amazing items for our upcoming GALS/PIP Bi-annual community baby shower on Sunday, October 19th.
We still need a Ton of volunteers to sign up for loading the Uhaul on Saturday, October 18th and assisting the day of the shower as well. # ❤️

Never a slow day receiving donations & organizing them to keep this beautiful unit set for our upcoming GALS/PIP Bi-annual community baby shower on Sunday, October 19th. Im so thankful for every person who opens their homes to send these items off into new families...passing every positive vibes and love into these babies and showing there will always be a village of support ❤️

The registration has gone live for our GALS/PIP Bi-annual community baby shower. Spots fill fast, so please scan the QR code to register or find the link in the comments below.

We also need the amazing outpouring of community donations we always have . Please note that we are now ONLY taking donations from pregnancy to age 2. Read through the list of items needed and reach out to us - donations@givingaustinlaborsupport.org.

Finally, we need as many volunteers as possible to make this event a success. We have 2 dates where we need individuals - Saturday evening, October 18th, and the day of the shower Sunday, October 19th.
Please note that we are able to issue a letter of completion for community service hours.

Eeeekkk!!! Tomorrow is the day! The bi-annual community baby shower from 1p-5p. Registration is closed as we have 300 families registered, but we can always still use more volunteers. If you want to represent your business or organization, this is a great place to do it & network.

We are still taking in tons of donations weekly until Saturday, May 10th, for our upcoming GALS/PIP Free Annual Community Baby Shower on Saturday, May 17th. We currently have 300 families registered for the event and even more on our watlist. If you have any items to donate, please don't hesitate to email my team & I at donations@givingaustinlaborsupport.org. We have donation drop sites available at 6 locations.

Every bit helps, and we definitely can't make this happen without community support. If you are also willing to sign up to volunteer to help the day of the shower, it's greatly appreciated. We need lots of volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly, and we are able to issue proof of community service letters for ages 12+ with parents registered to volunteer as well.
