A beautiful weekend spent in the garden 🌿🎶

Solace Hospice was proud to bring music to the “Garden Party” at The Reserve at Lake Austin, where residents enjoyed live music, fresh air, and time spent gardening together. From planting to relaxing in the sunshine, it was a day full of connection, joy, and simple moments that made a big impact.
We’re grateful to be part of experiences that bring people together and brighten the community. 💚

Serving with heart, beyond care 🤍

At Solace Hospice, we’re honored to bring communion to communities across Austin; creating moments of peace, connection, and spiritual support for those we serve.

Giving back and staying involved in our community is at the core of who we are. These visits are more than a service, they’re a reminder that no one walks this journey alone.

Starting hospice care doesn’t have to feel overwhelming 💛

Here are 5 simple steps to help guide your family through this transition:

1️⃣ Start the Comfort Conversation
Talk openly with your loved one and doctor about focusing on comfort, not cure. This helps honor their wishes and avoid unnecessary stress.

2️⃣ Choose the Right Hospice Provider
You have options—find a Medicare-certified team that supports both patients and families.

3️⃣ Verify Insurance & Paperwork
Most hospice care is fully covered. Make sure documents like POA and advance directives are ready.

4️⃣ Prepare the Home Space
Create a peaceful, comfortable area with the right equipment and essentials close by.

5️⃣ Build Your Support Circle
You’re not alone—lean on family, friends, and your hospice team for help and support.

✨ Hospice is about comfort, dignity, and being surrounded by care when it matters most.

Friday Facts 💡

Did you know hospice care can actually help patients live longer? By focusing on comfort, symptom management, and reducing stress, hospice allows the body to rest and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations or aggressive treatments.

It’s not about giving up; it’s about improving quality of life, which can sometimes lead to more meaningful time with loved ones. 💙

Sunshine, smiles, and a little friendly competition ☀️🌿
The Solace Hospice team took time to recharge: enjoying the sun, playing co****le, and sharing great food hot off the grill with our CEO, Jason. These moments together help us show up with even more heart for those we serve. 💙

Caring for a loved one with dementia can feel overwhelming, emotional, and at times isolating — but you don’t have to walk that journey alone. 💙

Join us for Best Practices When Serving Those with Dementia, a helpful and encouraging event hosted by Solace Hospice, created specifically for spouses and family members caring for someone they love. We’ll cover practical communication tips, ways to respond to confusion or difficult behaviors, and how to create a calmer, safer home environment — all while preserving dignity, connection, and quality of life.

Connecting with the community one
event at a time 💙

The team at Solace Hospice had a wonderful time
hosting activities across the community this week.
From a fun and creative painting event at Brookdale
Lohman’s Crossing & Silver Leaf to lively rounds of
trivia and bingo at The Lodge at Merrilltown Apartments
as well as bringing education about common myths of
hospice, it was a joy to spend time laughing, learning,
and connecting with residents.

Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to
bring people together through simple activities, shared
smiles, and community support. We’re grateful for the
opportunity to create these experiences and look
forward to many more.
