The first Friday in February, the Columbus Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter joins women all around the world who wear red in honor of women who deserve to live well at all stages of our lives and in celebration of American Heart Month. Cardiovascular disease continues to be the number 1 killer of women. We are committed to raising awareness and minimizing the threat. Here are some tips:
Team. Identify a supportive team of providers who can competently address your health, mental health, caregiving, parenting needs.
Wellness. Visit GoRedforWomen.org and learn more about cardiovascular risks, prevention, healthy lifestyle, risk reduction and more.
Community. Volunteer, attend an event, join a philanthropic group, or start a health ministry at your local church.
Support. Create healthy support systems of women who can hold you accountable to your healthy habits or who are living with cardiac disease.
Future. Participate in research and donate to scholarships that support the next generation of women in health careers.
Impact. Advocate for policies that support all womenβs health and well-being.
