❄️👁️ Winter Eye Care Tips from Johnson Eye Center 👁️❄️

We have got some pretty nasty cold weather coming our way, and with this ice storm and winter chill, we wanted to share a few tips on how to take care of your eyes during the colder months. 🥶🌨️

When temperatures drop, the air becomes much drier, which can dry out your eyes and lead to irritation, burning, redness, blurry vision, and that uncomfortable gritty feeling. Cold winds can also make your eyes water more, which actually makes dryness even worse once those tears evaporate. 😖💨

Here are a few simple ways to protect your eyes this winter:
💧 Use lubricating eye drops to keep your eyes moist
🚰 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
🕶️ Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from cold winds and dry air

And with this ice storm, it is also important to be mindful of snow blindness. ❄️☀️
Snow and ice reflect sunlight, which can expose your eyes to intense UV rays and cause temporary vision loss, pain, and light sensitivity. Wearing sunglasses or UV protective eyewear outdoors can help prevent this.
