The Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania Nursing Scholarships are now live!

If you’re a Pennsylvania nursing student planning to serve PA communities, this opportunity is for you. From LPN to PhD, multiple scholarship pathways are available for students enrolled in PA State Board-approved programs with a 3.0+ GPA.

Selection is based on academic achievement, professional leadership & leadership potential, community service, and personal commitment.
(PhD applicants are also evaluated on research significance and impact)

The scholarships include:
* PhD Scholarship
* Advanced Degree - Doctoral Scholarship
* Advanced Degree - Masters Scholarship
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing Scholarship
* RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Scholarship
* Associate Degree in Nursing Scholarship
* Nursing Diploma Scholarship
* Licensed Practical Nursing Scholarship

How do I apply for a Nightingale Nursing Scholarship?

2. Read "Who is eligible" to determine if you can apply.
3. Read "How to apply" to understand the requirements.
4. Complete the application and submit the required transcript along with two letters of recommendation.

Big Penn Energy at the HX Press Ganey Conference💙

Proud to represent Penn Medicine and HUP Penn Nursing on the national stage at Press Ganey’s HX26 Conference, held February 2–4 in Orlando, Florida.

Michelle Feil, MSN, RN, Manager of the Patient & Family Centered Care Program, and Lisa Sator, PT, DPT, WCS, CLT, Director of Patient & Guest Relations, presented “Strategies for Sustaining Top Decile Performance,” sharing both the work and a meaningful reflection of the collective efforts that sustain exceptional patient experiences every day.

Our Patient & Guest Relations team, Ambassadors, Patient Experience Coordinators, and Family Caregiver Centers continue to drive meaningful, human-centered care across our hospital.

This work is about showing up—for patients, families, and our care teams—and it doesn’t happen without incredible people behind it. So proud of this team and the impact they make.

Grateful to Press Ganey for the opportunity and to leadership for championing experience as a core part of quality, safety, and nursing excellence.

✨ Investing in better care through better communication ✨

This MLK Weekend, the HUP team came together for Clinical Conflict Management training with Penn Medical Ethics & Health Policy. Our Patient Experience, Nursing, and Ethics teams participated in intensive mediation and conflict resolution training—because difficult conversations are opportunities to listen, understand, and collaborate. Better communication = better care for our patients and families.

Penn Medicine Academy proudly kicked off the Fall 2025 Cohort of the Penn Medicine Futures Program, a prestigious professional development experience designed to elevate emerging leaders across the organization.

Following individual contributor nominations, a rigorous selection process, and final review by the CHRO, Ambassador Hospital Concierge team members from Patient and Guest Relations — Salif Kane and Judith McPhaul — were selected to participate. (Corey Edwards, also a graduate, is not pictured.)

Throughout the program, participants showcased their strengths, engaged in dynamic learning sessions and breakout discussions, expanded their professional networks, and completed meaningful assignments that reinforced growth and leadership development.

👏 After demonstrating outstanding commitment and dedication, these team members successfully graduated from the Penn Medicine Futures Program – Cohort 2.
