But when we live in that mode too long, everything starts to look like a threat and we miss the joy right in front of us.

This small shift is one of the most powerful communication skills you can build, whether in relationships, at work, or with family.

When you start a sentence with “you,” it often sounds like blame:
➡️ “You never listen.”

But when you use “I,” it creates connection instead of conflict:
💬 “I feel unheard when I’m interrupted.”

This technique improves emotional intelligence, reduces defensiveness, and helps build healthier relationships through empathy and clarity.
