My instructor said:
“I don’t think you’ll finish learning the song in time for the recital.”

I said:”I love this song. I’ll do whatever it takes to play it.”

In my mind, “You want to bet me?”

December 14th, 2025 — I played it!

It wasn’t perfect.
I started late.
I missed notes.
But I wanted to play the song.
And somewhere near the end,
I stopped thinking about what I missed…
and just danced. ( Watch til the End☺️)

Machel Montano is my favorite artist, and Bet Meh is about daring someone to doubt you —
to bet you can’t do what you say you will do.

The preparation for this song felt exactly like that.
As I step into 2026, this is my energy:
stop waiting to be perfect to be proud.
Bet on yourself.✨

You don’t have to blow up your life to take a sabbatical. ✈️

We’ve been told rest is only for the wealthy or the lucky few — but it’s not.

A sabbatical isn’t about quitting or escaping.
It’s about creating intentional space for rest and clarity in whatever that looks like for you.

My latest reflection, The Myth You Have to Blow Up Your Life to Take a Sabbatical, is now live on the blog. 💛

📍 — because it’s important that my luggage hold all my things!

What would your version of taking time off for rest and clarity look like?👇🏾

I almost let summer slip by without a vacation 🫠

So I pulled the trigger → looked up a destination 3 days prior to leaving → booked a trip to Grand Cayman for under $300 (flights + hotel, yes really).

My plan was simple: sunshine, turquoise water, good food, and rest. 🌴

It wasn’t planned but it was exactly what I needed.

Sometimes you don’t need months of planning. You just need to say YES!

📝 For the full story of this last-minute reset, head to the blog (link in bio).

Just a few scenes from the first six months.
Not everything—just the parts that stayed with me.
A little sun.
A little soul work.
Some walks. Some wonders.
Some saying yes to things that scared me.
Not rushing the becoming. Just grateful for the unfolding. 🌿

I’ll be sharing more soon—stories, lessons, and little shifts from this season.
But for now, this is enough. 💛

Have you heard of the Moth?

Last night, I participated in my very first Moth live storytelling event—and wow, it was magical.

To be honest, it was also my first time attending anything like this. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s essentially an open mic for storytelling, held in cities around the world, centered around a theme. You have five minutes to tell a true story from your life—and while anyone can sign up, only 10 names are pulled from a hat.

A month ago, I saw the flyer. I knew I wanted to share my story. But even the morning of the event, I debated going. I had worked the night before, I was tired. But something told me—go. I went for a run, cleared my head, and bought the ticket.

The theme? Bloom.

The doors opened. I signed up. About 100 people ushered into the room. They gave the rules. The event began and then…

“Coming to the stage… Amy Felix.”

Wait—what?! They picked me. My heart jumped. I walked up, lights in my eyes, and began:

“I quit my job.”
Applause.
“I quit my job.” More cheers.
And from there, I shared how in life we have more than 1 bloom season..

Afterwards, people came up to me—touched by my story, curious about my business, and yes, even complimenting my outfit.

The thing about making radical change in your life, it becomes infectious through all aspects of life.

As I imagine my future self on big stages, sharing my story, I’m excited about how I can help others live their wildest dreams, and organizations support the well-being of their employees.

But as for last night, I was just happy to share my story about my Bloom 🥰

Btw- There are judges who score your story immediately after. I’m proud of my score even as a first timer. 🙂

I’m thrilled to be recognized as one of ‘s 2025 Caribbean Boss Ladies in honor of !

It’s truly amazing to be a woman of Caribbean descent making waves, breaking barriers, and creating impact across industries. This recognition is a testament to the incredible talent within our diaspora, and I’m grateful to be among such phenomenal women!

A huge thank you to CBN for this recognition and congratulations to all the other Boss Lady Honorees! Let’s continue to uplift, inspire, and support each other.

Yes, this is me smiling ….

on a Sunday evening while working my second shift of the weekend….Post vacation 🤗

I just came back from a 10 day vacation, fun in the sun with family and friends. And usually, I would dread the return to real life. But this time I didn’t!😳

I was happy to come back home rejuvenated, with 2 days off to settle back into real life. I returned to work full of energy and ready to see patients on Saturday as well as excited for my entrepreneurial work that lies ahead over the next few months.

While I was gleefully walking from to my patients rooms on Saturday, I had to ask myself ,

“Why am I ok being at work after great vacation?”🤔

Then it hit me! Four years ago, when I took my leap of faith and took a sabbatical, I vowed to create a life that I didn’t need to escape. And I REALLY DID IT!

Lifestyle design is a real thing, and I know this because I am living it. I am still an entrepreneur, a nurse practitioner, daughter, sister, friend… all of the things. However, I move in these spaces in a way that fulfills me and doesn’t drain me.

This Monday, think about what’s filling your cup more or what feels easy to your soul, and do more of that!😁

Happy Monday☀️

Do you take a recovery day between vacation and returning to work? I think this is a game changer for me!
