First recognized in 2009 by activist Rachel Crandall, International Transgender Day of Visibility is a day to honor the contributions of trans people while also raising awareness of the discrimination and barriers many still face.

Affirming care means creating a safe space where individuals — especially LGBTQ+ and transgender people — are seen, respected, and supported in their identities. It means using correct names and pronouns, validating lived experiences, and providing care that aligns with who someone truly is.

Research from organizations like the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that affirming environments significantly reduce depression, anxiety, and su***de risk among LGBTQ+ youth. When people feel safe to be themselves, mental health outcomes improve.

Our girl Tiffany Coles helped get a Resolution passed by City Council to recognize, 2/15, as Philadelphia’s philanthropic holiday— 215 Day of Giving.

Tiffany’s organization Bosses Give Back is one of the beneficiaries and she supported on the backend with the initiative.
