Penn Women in Design would like to invite you to a conversation with architect and landscape architect Susannah Drake, FASLA, AIA, next Thursday, Feb 17 at 3 PM

Susannah is the founding principal of DLAND studio , a leading multidisciplinary design firm based in Brooklyn, NY. The studio leads numerous multiscale projects since its founding back in 2005. DLAND's practice redefines the role of public space to incorporate infrastructural systems, restore native ecologies, and mitigate climate change. Susannah has kindly offered to have an open table conversation with the students and PWID. Aspiring female designers looking forward to following interdisciplinary roles and career paths after graduation are encouraged to attend.

This is open to the entire Weitzman community. Take away snacks will be provided!!

Only 17% of Wikipedia biographies and articles about projects are primarily about women. Events like this are working to change that, in this case specifically within the fields of Planning and Design. People of all gender identities and expressions are welcome to join.

Staff from the Weitzman School’s Fabrication Lab were authorized to return to campus last week to produce face shields for Penn hospital workers. “For as long as we need to, we’ll be coming in and fabricating this material,” says Senior Director of Operations and Planning Karl Wellman.

PWID is disappointed that we have to postpone Bio/Matter/Techno, but we wanted to remember some amazing events Penn Women in Design graduates have worked on it the past. Thank you Moskovitz for sharing this. In the spring of 1999 the Women in Design group put together a series of lectures and exhibitions. A lecture with Zaha Hadid, a forum, panel discussion, and master class called "Urbanism at the Margins" with invited critics Lise Anne Couture, Homa Farjadi, Ming Fung, Lisa Quatrale, and Dagmar Richter.
