In home care, kindness is more than a gesture—it’s the heart of everything we do.
It’s in the way a caregiver takes time to sit and listen.
In the smile shared during a morning routine.
In the gentle reassurance offered to someone living with memory loss.
On World Kindness Day, we celebrate the quiet, powerful moments that remind us care is not just a service—it’s a connection.
Let’s all look for opportunities today to offer a kind word, a helping hand, or a little extra patience.
Because kindness doesn’t just change someone’s day—it can change a life.

Did you know November is National Family Caregivers Month?
Behind so many front doors is someone quietly doing it all—managing medications, preparing meals, helping a parent bathe, comforting a spouse with memory loss, or simply sitting bedside through the hard days.

You are seen. You are appreciated. And you are not alone.

Because caregiving is not just a role—it’s a relationship, a promise, and an act of deep devotion. Thank you for your love, strength, and sacrifice.

According to USCIS beginning October 30, 2025, certain workers whose work permits (Employment Authorization Documents, or EADs) are up for renewal will no longer receive automatic extensions while their renewal applications are processed.
🔍 What’s changing
Previously, workers in certain eligible categories could continue working while their renewal for an EAD was pending—thanks to an automatic extension.
Under the new interim final rule, if you file your renewal on or after the effective date, you may not receive that automatic extension and might be required to stop working until the renewal is approved.
This rule applies to specific categories of EAD holders. There are exceptions, such as individuals under Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or other statutorily covered groups.
✅ What to do if you’re affected
If you hold an EAD and are planning to renew: File as early as possible—USCIS recommends submitting your renewal up to 180 days before expiry.
Monitor your work-authorization status closely. If your EAD lapses and you do not have an automatic extension, you must stop working until your renewal is approved.
Keep your employer (HR) informed about your status so we can support compliance and proper documentation.

📢 ACA Update for 2026!

The ACA affordability threshold is increasing to 9.96% of an employee’s household income (up from 9.02% in 2025).

💡 What this means:
If you’re getting the health plan from the employer, an employee’s share of the premium for self-only coverage can’t exceed 9.96% of their household income in 2026.
👉 This threshold applies to the least expensive self-only plan an employer offers

📢 Important Reminder for Caregivers - Tiếng Việt ở phần xem thêm!

At Golden Age Home Care, the well-being of our clients depends on accurate and timely care. Any time services cannot be provided—whether due to unplanned hospitalizations, planned medical stays, client or caregiver unavailability, travel, or refusal of services—this is considered a missed shift.
👉 It is crucial that all missed shifts are reported to the agency within 24 hours.
Failure to report in a timely manner may raise concerns with Managed Care Organizations regarding caregiver presence and could impact the client’s authorized hours in future assessments.
✅ To keep care running smoothly, please notify your Coordinator right away—or call/text our office at 215-689-0000—for any missed services, planned or unplanned.

Your prompt communication ensures that our clients continue receiving the care and support they deserve. 💙

Clean hands save lives!

On Global Handwashing Day, we highlight one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent illness—especially for our most vulnerable clients.
Handwashing isn’t just a routine; it’s a critical step in preventing the spread of illness, reducing hospitalizations, and protecting lives.
For our caregivers, proper hand hygiene is part of every visit, every task, and every interaction. From preparing meals to assisting with mobility or medication, clean hands are a promise of safe, professional care.
Why it matters:
Up to 80% of infections are spread by hands.
Older adults and those with chronic illnesses are more susceptible to complications from infections.
In home care settings, consistent hand hygiene helps reduce the risk of cross-contamination and keeps everyone—clients, families, and caregivers—safer.
We’re proud of our caregivers for following best practices every day. And we invite everyone—families, and clients—to join us in this simple but life-saving habit

October 10 is World Mental Health Day

Mental health is just as important as physical health—at every age. Mental health matters—for our clients, caregivers, and families. On World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that caring for the mind is just as important as caring for the body.
At Golden Age, we recognize that caring for others starts with understanding their emotional well-being. Whether it's companionship, active listening, or a calming presence, our caregivers are here for the whole person.

Let’s check in, speak up, and support one another with compassion, empathy and kindness.
