Odds are, if you’ve had a treatment with our Thai massage therapist, Marissa, you’re already familiar with the healing warmth and intoxicating aroma of Luk Pra Kob — Thailand’s ancient ritual of herbal healing. 🌿✨🌿

These steamed herbal compresses are filled with lemongrass, plai, galangal, kaffir lime leaf, and camphor. They are pressed gently into the body - carrying heat, ancient aromas, and plant medicine deep into the nervous system.

Our Thai massage therapist, Marisa offers two ways to experience Luk Pra Kob.

✨On the table, warm compresses and dosha-matched oils flow in continuous, wave-like movements along the body, working side by side to release deeply held knots in the neck, shoulders, and spine — a rhythmic, grounding journey that lulls the nervous system into ease.

✨Or receive this ritual as a scalp-focused sanctuary, where steamed herbs circle the head, neck, and shoulders, Ayurvedic oils nourish the scalp, and a traditional Thai horn comb awakens circulation, clears the mind, and leaves the crown of the body open and bright.

You can experience this ancient healing technique using the link in bio to reserve your spot with Marisa. 🤍

Craniosacral Therapy ✨
A gentle, hands-on modality that works with your nervous system, not your muscles.

Using a series of still, light holds—often at the base of the skull, along the top of the head, and at the sacrum (the base of the spine)—the practitioner listens to subtle rhythms in the body.
These gentle techniques support balance in the craniosacral system - the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This isn’t traditional massage. There is no kneading or pressure and clients remain fully clothed the entire time.

What does it feel like?
Most people describe a deep sense of calm, warmth, soft unwinding, or drifting into a meditative state. Some notice subtle shifts; others simply feel profoundly relaxed.

Why people love it:
• Down-regulates the nervous system
• Supports stress relief and emotional regulation
• Helps with headaches, jaw tension, chronic pain, and overwhelm
• Creates space for the body to reset and self-correct

This is subtle work with real impact. Perfect for when you already feel like you’re at your tipping point.

You’ve heard of lymphatic drainage for the body… but let’s talk about your face 👀✨

Your face has its own lymphatic system, which plays a key role in fluid balance, immune support, and skin health. When lymph flow is stimulated, it can help reduce puffiness, support clearer skin, improve circulation, and enhance natural facial definition.

At NoteToSelf Wellness, lymphatic facial massage is included in every facial to encourage the movement of stagnant fluid and support the skin’s natural detoxification pathways. This technique works beneath the surface to promote balance and long-term skin health, not just temporary results.

We use a combination of hands-on techniques and specialized tools—including cupping, fan brushes, dry brushing, and ice globes—to gently stimulate lymphatic flow while also calming the nervous system. We have most of these tools for sale, so you can take your lymphatic massage home too!

Book a facial to support your skin’s natural detoxification processes and experience the benefits of intentional, restorative care.

With the winter weather arriving in the next few days, it’s a beautiful opportunity to slow down, turn inward, and take a little extra care. 🤍❄️🌿

In both Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is a season of restoration. Cold and dryness can affect the body and nervous system - making warmth, nourishment, and rest especially important during this time.

✨ Keep warm and grounded — layer your body and your space with cozy blankets, soft socks, heat, and calming light to help anchor your energy.

✨ Nourish with warming foods and drinks — herbal teas, warm lemon water, broths, and lightly spiced beverages with ginger, cinnamon, or cardamom support digestion and internal warmth.

✨ Protect your energy — winter encourages turning inward. Reduce screen time, rest your eyes, slow your breath, find a good book, take out your journal and allow quiet moments to calm the nervous system and replenish Qi.

✨ Honor winter’s natural rhythm — earlier nights, slower mornings, and deeper rest aren’t indulgent; they’re essential for balance and long-term wellness.

Stay cozy, stay well, and enjoy the gentle pace of winter. 🙏

You’ve probably heard of cupping, but do you know what it actually does?

Cupping therapy is a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that uses suction cups to lift the skin and stimulate muscles and connective tissue. This helps move areas of stagnation, boost blood and lymphatic circulation, and support the body’s natural detoxification process.

By drawing stagnant blood and fluids toward the surface, cupping encourages better circulation, delivers fresh nutrients to tissues, helps relax tight muscles, reduce soreness, and improve mobility.

In TCM, cupping supports the flow of Qi (vital energy), which is essential for balance and overall wellness. It’s especially beneficial for chronic tension or areas that don’t fully respond to massage alone.

Many of our alternative massage services offer cupping as an option, allowing us to tailor each session to your needs. If you’re curious whether cupping is right for you, feel free to reach out and we’ll help guide you.
