Rebel Gardeners

Rebel Gardeners Reducing health disparities, One seed at a time...

Who we are and What we do:

The Rebel Gardeners are a group of teens from Philadelphia committed to fostering a community 'one seed at a time'. Crew members maintain a garden and orchard at Pepper Middle School, support neighborhood community gardens, sell our produce at local farmers markets, and cook and eat together. The Rebel Gardeners are a program run by the Agastson Urban Nutrition Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania. Where to find us:

Our market day is Thursday-
@ Mercy Eastwick Health Center 12:30- 2:30 pm
@ Clark Park Farmers' Market 3:30- 7:00 pm

ENTREPRENEURS OF REBEL: A'Nya

My biggest role model is my grandma. She knows that some people are less fortunate, she just helps them out. She just takes care of people. She used to work at a playground and basically everyone who was there she basically raised. At the same time she was strict- she got people to respect her. She took her time and did things that other people wouldn’t normally do to help them with their lives. Yeah, I want to be like her in some ways.
