The Roxborough School of Nursing celebrated its recent graduation ceremony at Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church, honoring the accomplishments of its newest cohort of nursing professionals. The event highlighted academic excellence and clinical dedication, with faculty, students, and guests gathering to acknowledge the graduates’ hard work and commitment to patient care. Jennifer Shoup, Director of Academic Affairs, presented the Marion Knoelke Memorial Award to Jessica Hollomon in recognition of her outstanding academic and clinical performance.
The ceremony featured several meaningful traditions that underscored the profession’s values. Aino Soderhielm delivered the ceremonial reading of the Hands of the Nurse, and members of the graduating class recited the Nurses’ Pledge, reaffirming their ethical obligations and compassion. The School of Nursing’s alma mater was performed, adding a note of pride and community, and class speaker Janae Plummer offered a heartfelt farewell address reflecting on the class’s shared journey and the responsibilities that lie ahead.
As the program concluded, graduates, faculty, and families joined in celebration, marking the transition from students to practicing nurses ready to serve their communities. The ceremony not only recognized individual achievements but also reinforced the School’s dedication to preparing skilled, compassionate nurses for the challenges of modern healthcare.
