November 20th is Transgender Day of Remembrance, where we acknowledge and honor the trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming lives cut short by anti-trans violence. With the rise of anti-trans laws, attacks on health care, and hate crimes, the fight for their futures and their rights is urgent.

Trans and nonbinary people deserve more than equality – they deserve safety, dignity, joy, and more than anything, they deserve to grow old.

The Pennsylvania state budget is now more than 100 days overdue. Domestic violence agencies in our state are trying to stay open during a budget impasse AND a government shutdown.

Lawmakers in our state have failed to act, and survivors of domestic violence will suffer the consequences. We stand in solidarity with our community partners across Pennsylvania who are facing difficult choices to cut services and reduce staffing due to the budget impasse.

We’re urging advocates across Philadelphia and the Commonwealth to call lawmakers in Harrisburg and say enough is enough. Domestic violence services are essential and must be funded, even during a budget impasse.
