Meet Lee!!

How did you get into yoga?
✨ I got into yoga in 2017 through a trainer who unbeknownst to me was a yogi! I studied and practiced with him most mornings at sunrise for a couple years. This solidified my love for yoga and it has been a huge part of my wellness journey ever since and will always be a large part of me.

What’s been one of the most gratifying moments of your yoga journey?
✨I love yoga retreats! It has become my favorite way to travel, I have been on six so far (and counting). It is a perfect way to experience a part of our beautiful world, continue on the path of self discovery and physical alignment, and bond in new settings, doing fun things with others — building community.

What is your favorite yoga pose?
✨ My favorite yoga poses are Warrior II and Upward Facing Dog

What can students expect from your classes?
✨My class is an accessible, all-level flow with moderate pacing. We build strength through some stillness, but also build a heat that releases tension. Intentional and uplifting music accompanies the flow and at times there is a theme focused on self-motivation, mental clarity, and self discovery.

What can we find you doing outside of the yoga studio? ✨I’m the Assistant Director of Advancement at Cristo Rey Philadelphia, a private Catholic school for students of all faiths. Professionally I am most passionate about education and equity. I grew up in the Chicago area, but have been in Philadelphia since 2015 — so I am a big Philadelphia sports fan who still has some Chicago team allegiances. In my spare time I enjoy travel (especially yoga retreats!), writing (currently working on my first book), dancing, karaoke and adventuring with my hyperactive dog, a basenji named Iverson.

Join of for an evening of somatic breath work & sound journey in ~

Going Inward 🗓️ Friday, March 6, 6:30 pm

We’ll be using a subtle yet profound practice of conscious, connected breathing guided by the psyche, not intensity. This gentle parasympathetic breath support nervous system rewiring and deep healing on a mental, physical and spiritual level.

The breathwork will be accompanied by a soothing and comforting sound healing as a relaxation tool to help melt away the surface level distractions and invite the nervous system to settle into deeper, clarity, communication with the psyche and restoration of the body. The immersive sound allows vibrations to pe*****te the body to find rest, harmony and balance from the inside out.

🧘 These two practices together clear the path to create renewal of Self and openings in the subconscious. This evening is a journey back Home.

The fear of public speaking is consistently ranked as one of the greatest fears and is one of the most prominent afflictions of those with social anxiety. Yet hardly nowhere in formal education nor in yoga teacher training do we work on the skills to gain confidence, proficiency, and authenticity in our speaking.

As a former stage actor with a degree in theatre, Dat Dude Jonny brings practical voice work to this offering that’s perfect for yoga & wellness instructors or anyone engaged in public speaking for that matter.

🗓️ March 1, 12:30 pm

Freeing the Authentic Voice is a 2 hour training that focuses both on improving the ability to speak clearly & confidently as well as helping folks figure out how to express their authentic self with their words. The training covers practical and intentional practices for preparation, proficiency, and authentic presence in the seat of the teacher; specifically focused on our voice and how we use it.

Topics include:
💫Rehearsal/ class prep
💫Vocal/ body warm-ups for speaking
💫The energetic exchange from teacher to audience
💫Embracing the authentic self in our teachings

Join us as we work on both approaches to freeing the authentic voice. ⭐️ This training is perfect for anyone looking to have more confidence and clarity in their public speaking.

We’ve decided to close the studio this Friday in solidarity with the general strike being called in response to ICE and the current situation affecting communities across the country.

During this closure, all teachers will be paid for their missed classes as an expression of care and support for the people who make this space possible.

In addition, proceeds from our Saturday night sound bath with Sarah Hummel, as well as our Sunday morning classes, will be donated to Juntos.

We believe this moment calls for reflection, care, and collective action. Thank you for being part of this community—we look forward to practicing together again soon.

Join for Winter Release, a 4- Week Series that immerses you in Supreme Release Yoga + Yoga Nidra meets on Tuesdays, Feb 3 - 24 at 6 pm

In this practice, you will begin to gently and profoundly unravel long held tension in body, mind, and beyond with Supreme Release Yoga (aka Śṛy) and Yoga Nidra.

Through the Śṛy methodology*, we will use the support of the earth, personalized propping, gentle physical alignment to in the muscles along your spine and deep within your pelvis.Śṛy soothes the many layers of you, seen and unseen, while decompressing and releasing muscles along your spine — the axis of your physical body and conduit of subtle energies like prana. During the third of class, you will be guided to deeper relaxation and towards the divine within through a yoga nidra practice.

This is a gentle approach to asana rooted in the Ta***ic understanding of the body as a sacred field of the yogic journey. While this practice is highly accessible due its slow pace, use of props, supported postures, Śṛy is simultaneously an advanced practice of going inward, cultivating spaciousness within yourself, and expanding your capacity for somatic awareness. This release and expansion has the ability to lead you further along the path of your inner awakening, unravel long held tensions both physically and beyond, and invite in a sense of greater availability to life itself.

Śṛy pronounced shree, stands for Supreme Release Yoga, founded by teacher Kaya Mindlin
