Teacher feature ⚡️Meet Caroline!

How did you get into yoga?

I started practicing yoga when I was a kid from an instructional VHS tape I bought from The Discovery Channel store at the local mall. It was advertised as yoga for children and it came with a mat and two yoga blocks.
My sister myself and my mom would take yoga classes at the YMCA, in the same room I got my babysitter certification in middle school. My sister and I were the youngest people in the class by at least two decades, and the concept of “yoga clothes” was my Limited Too track suit.

What’s been one of the most gratifying moments of your yoga journey?

I don’t feel like I really started practicing yoga until I started my first teacher training. As a hyper mobile person in the social yoga sphere, I was always praised for my bendy body. When I did my 200 hour, they set me straight. I went from moving from passive flexibility and hyperextension, to shaking in table top position. My flexibility was not my advantage any longer. And it was not only humbling, but so deeply gratifying. My 200 hour changed my life in countless ways, such as finding life long friends and working through the fear of public speaking.

What is your favorite yoga pose?

I don’t have a favorite, but I will tell you my least favorite. Binds… in all forms. Revolved and regular bird of paradise. I taught BOP as my peak pose for a 300 hour training module, and hurt my rotator cuffs in the process.

What can students expect from your classes?

Using the wall just like another prop. My chronic injuries have informed my teaching immensely. I use the wall to feel my body engage, gravity is not enough when your connective tissue lacks normal tension. My classes have moments of flow, pausing for questions, laughing at ourselves and turning inward to meet ourselves where we are.

Adriana is back for a special 3-week SRY series!
🗓️Tuesdays, December 2-16, 6 pm

In this practice, you will begin to gently and profoundly unravel long held tension in the muscles along your spine and deep within your pelvis. Through the Śṛy methodology, (pronounced shree, stands for Supreme Release Yoga, founded by teacher Kaya Mindlin), we will use the support of the earth, personalized propping, gentle physical alignment, all interwoven with timeless yogic wisdom. This is a gentle approach to asana rooted in the ta***ic understanding of the body as a sacred field of the yogic journey.

Śṛy soothes the many layers of you, seen and unseen, while decompressing and releasing muscles along your spine — the axis of your physical body and conduit of subtle energies like prana. While this practice is highly accessible due its slow pace, use of props, gentle postures, Śṛy is an advanced practice of going inward, cultivating spaciousness within yourself, and expanding your capacity for somatic awareness. This release and expansion has the ability to lead you further along the path of your inner awakening, unravel long held tensions both physically and beyond, and invite in a sense of greater availability to life itself.

This restorative experience combines Restorative Yoga, pranayama (guided breathwork), and a deeply nourishing Yoga Nidra meditation to help you unwind fully—body, mind, and spirit.

Restorative Yoga is a gentle, prop-supported practice using bolsters and blankets to invite stillness, release tension, and cultivate ease. Through soothing breath practices that calm the nervous system and mindful, easeful movement, you’ll prepare the body to enter profound states of rest.

The practice will close with a guided Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep)—a meditation designed to guide you through the layers of consciousness, bringing balance, clarity, and deep relaxation.
