Program Spotlight: Therapeutic Nursery

CCTC’s Therapeutic Nursery is a pre-school program designed for children ages 2 1/2 through 5 with significant behavioral challenges. The Therapeutic Nursery combines therapeutic interventions and pre-school curricula in a warm and playful atmosphere.

The primary goal of the program is to avert the need for more restrictive levels of support by providing the type of structured and nurturing care necessary to enable young children with behavioral challenges to transition back to the regular school setting.

We invite you to join us for the next In-Person Parent/Caregiver Workshop: "What About Us? Using Movement and Play for Ourselves" on Tuesday, April 14th at 12 PM. This workshop is presented by Olivia Kimes, CCTC Dance/Movement Therapy Intern.

Caregivers often spend a lot of time and energy creating space for our children to play, but do you ever do the same for yourself? It's important for adults to experience play too! This workshop will explore ways to bring more play into our own lives through movement.

No prior dance experience needed, and all levels of movement are welcome. Dress comfortably, and come prepared to play!

Caregivers and staff are encouraged to attend; certificates of attendance will be provided.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FREE and available to everyone. Registration is requested. Most CCTC workshops can be used for one hour of Parenting Education credits.

To register, please contact Stephanie Harmelin at stephanie.harmelin@cctckids.org and include your name, phone number, and how many people will be attending or call/text (215)445-1332.

Our interns came together for a special luncheon we hosted. It was an opportunity to connect, share their experiences, and meet face-to-face beyond their day-to-day teams. From different departments to one room, it was all about building community, learning from one another, and celebrating their journeys together.

🎨🃏 Emotional Intelligence + UNO = Powerful Conversations!

For the month of March, our Sanctuary theme is Emotional Intelligence, and the Development Team found a creative (and fun!) way to explore it together — through an UNO Game Match!

But this wasn’t just any game of UNO. Each color represented a different emotion, and whenever a team member landed on or played a color, they were invited to share a moment when they experienced that feeling. This a great activity to try with your own team!

🔴 Red – A time you felt angry or frustrated
🔵 Blue – A time you felt sad or reflective
🟢 Green – A time you felt calm or at peace
🟡 Yellow – A time you felt happy or excited
