The Orlons were a popular Philadelphia R&B vocal group from the 1960s, best known for hits like "The Wah-Watusi," "Don't Hang Up," and "South Street". Formed at Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia, the original lineup consisted of lead singer Rosetta Hightower, Shirley Brickley, Marlena Davis, and Stephen Caldwell. The group's name was inspired by the fabric of a sweater belonging to Caldwell, in a nod to a local rival group, the Cashmeres.
