Booker, Andrew S.
The world lost a beloved friend and carefree spirt, Andrew S. Booker (“Drew”), who passed away in his home suddenly on March 16, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories and a well-lived life.Son of the late Kermit Booker and the late Marion Blizard; loving father of Siena and Leon, and their mother, Cadence Berns, brother of Richard and Patricia Booker, and Jesse and Melisa Booker; also survived by his nieces Candace, Haley and Jordan; and nephews Richard and Chad. Drew graduated from Upper Merion High School, Class of 1984. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in both Lower and Upper Merion townships in Pennsylvania. Though Drew called Philadelphia his home, his sense for adventure had him living in Hamburg, Germany and New Orleans, Louisiana for a time. Upon returning to Philadelphia, Drew made South Philadelphia his home.
He loved to live in the City and was a diehard sport fan, passing that passion on to his children, and could often be found tossing the ball with them in the neighborhood streets, ‘South Philly style.”
Drew was an avid artist his entire life, creating many drawings, sculptures and paintings. He was also a skilled tradesman specializing in the art of meat preparation; before that, he worked for a time in the sport media business for NFL Films. He loved the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers and attended many games. The Eagles Super Bowl wins fulfilled a lifelong dream. He loved to watch the games on television, and would cheer and boo as loud as any Philadelphia fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Visitation and Funeral Monday March 23, 2026,
10:00AM to 11:00AM. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00AM. Int. Private.

Denny was a graduate of Father Judge High School, Class of 1967. He was born and raised in Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia and attended Saint Bernard Parish. Dennis was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served for 34 years in the Philadelphia Fire Department, retiring as a lieutenant.
Denny was a remarkable athlete who excelled in baseball, softball and basketball. An avid golfer, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless rounds.
Denny loved the Phillies more than anything and would be found listening or watching every game. He would rather be home than in the ballpark because he could get a better view. As much as he loved the Phillies he loved his Flyers, Sixers and Eagles. The Super Bowl wins fulfilled a lifelong dream. He was a passionate sports fan and would watch and cheer and be frustrated with each and every game he could see. He was affectionately known as "Denny Wawa" by his friends, and there never a bowl of ice cream or Oreo he didn't like.
