Connection over Compliance 🤍

Early ABA practices focus heavy on compliance and targeting noncompliant behavior. What we now know from developmental science research and practices in early child development is that it is not developmentally-appropriate for young children to comply to the demands of an adult all day. And when working in ABA with young children, it so important to follow the child’s interests, to create opportunities for real connection and meaningful learning, to be present and available to preemptively help a child regulate and name big feelings, to play, to explore, to laugh, to have fun.. to connect to all of the wonderful uniqueness that makes each child who they are 🤍

EK Tip of the Day- Dollhouse Play! ✨

There are so many great benefits to dollhouse play in early childhood development. And dollhouse play is one of my favorite ways to incorporate developmental goals into a really engaging, creative, and versatile activity!

Dollhouses are one of the few toys that a child and play partner can sit next to each to play alongside or cooperatively and engage in a variety of developmental skills within one really fun play routine! Besides learning spatial awareness, motor planning, and fine motor skills, children are learning so many foundational skills in child development including language skills, play skills, social-emotional skills, and engagement. —> Slide left to see some goals that can be incorporated into dollhouse play with your child ✨

Always remember this activity (just like any play activity) should be fun and engaging by following the child’s lead in the play which means no quizzing, demands, or prompting in play. The goal is to create lots of opportunities for connection, language, and learning while having fun together 🙌❤️

So much fun at Elevated Kids’ first annual Holiday Party!! ⛳️🎉

It’s been a long time since this awesome team has been able to get together in person and we were so grateful to be able to celebrate the end of a wonderful year with with an indoor/outdoor holiday event at Top Golf ! The weather was perfect and the team had a blast discovering their hidden golf talents and making some amazing EK memories together! 🙌❤️

HAPPY 2 YEARS EK PHILLY 🥊🎉 This has been the most amazing almost 20-year journey and more than I could have ever imagined or dreamed✨

From starting the company in 2018 to opening doors in Philadelphia in 2019 right before a global pandemic, to building and growing with truly the most caring, supportive, intentional, and innovative people by my side! 🙌 It takes a real team to do this amazing work and I’m so proud of this Elevated Kids team for their heart, talent, and commitment they bring to families each and every day!!
