Protect Your Feet This Diabetes Awareness Month

"When blood sugar is high, it can damage nerves and circulation, making it harder for your body to heal. This is especially true for wounds on your feet. If you can’t feel cuts or blisters (due to nerve damage), they can become serious and will not heal properly. The key is controlling blood sugar which helps wounds heal faster and reduces the risk of infections. If you notice any wounds that aren't healing, don't wait. Contact us to get the care you need!" Rachel Page, CFNP

Did you know diabetes-related foot wounds are a leading cause of limb loss? Early care can make all the difference.
✅ Check your feet daily
✅ Wear well-fitting shoes
✅ Maintain healthy blood sugar & circulation
✅ Seek help for wounds that won’t heal
At Neshoba Wound Care Center, we specialize in treating diabetes-related foot wounds to help you heal faster and prevent serious complications.

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month.
Over 38 million Americans are living with diabetes, and many don’t even know they have it. Early detection and healthy lifestyle choices can make a life-changing difference.
➡️ Know the signs: increased thirst, frequent urination, blurred vision, fatigue, and slow-healing wounds.
➡️ Take action: schedule regular checkups, stay active, choose balanced meals, and monitor blood sugar if you’re at risk.
Let’s work together to spread awareness, support those living with diabetes, and encourage healthier communities.

Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips for Families

Halloween is a fun and exciting time, but safety should always come first!
Here are a few reminders to help keep everyone safe this Halloween:

Stay Visible: Add reflective tape to costumes and carry flashlights or glow sticks.

Supervise Young Children: Always accompany little ones while trick-or-treating.

Watch for Traffic: Use sidewalks and cross streets at corners or crosswalks.

Check Treats: Inspect all candy before eating and avoid anything unwrapped.

Dress Smart: Make sure costumes fit properly and don’t block vision.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Halloween from all of us at Neshoba General. 👻
