Our Story

Even though each of us learns in dramatically different ways, we are all taught the same material in the same way at the same pace. Firecracker’s mission is to solve the 7 trillion dollar problem of one-size-fits-all education. We believe that learning must be personal, fun and hyper-effective. Firecracker does this by connecting what we need to know with things we're passionate about, using what we know about how our brains learn best, and leveraging technology and data science wherever helpful. The first application of our platform serves pre-meds and medical students. We help these students address their largest challenge--learning and remembering massive quantities of information. We create a personal learning plan for each of them that constantly adapts to their unique goals, learning style and strengths. It’s like giving them their very own personal tutor--24/7. Both groups of students consistently report whole letter grade improvements in their classes and test scores in the 99th percentile. Firecracker is led by startup veterans, software engineers and educators with a track record of building revolutionary companies. Our founding director, Andy Palmer, was recently named 2013 Angel Investor of the year by the New England Venture Capital Association. Come celebrate learning with us at www.firecracker.me
