It is Rare Disease Week, and Stacy is sharing her experience navigating her son King’s diagnosis of PCH1D, a rare degenerative disease. She wants to encourage more genetic testing, as people can be carriers of certain genes without knowing. Thank you Stacy for sharing your story.

The walk-in fracture clinic at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia is designed with convenience in mind for busy families and children. We treat it all – fractures, broken bones, sprains and strains. From sports fields to playgrounds, your child is just being a kid, and injuries happen. Walk right in, no appointment is needed.

All children and teens will be seen by a board-certified pediatric orthopedic provider. X-rays, casting, surgery (if needed), follow-up assessments and rehabilitation are offered, and all under one roof.

It was a special few days for patient ambassador Bella who recently attended the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational 🥎

Bella is a patient of Dr. Samdani, who is passionate about softball. After her scoliosis diagnosis she wasn't sure if she would ever play at the same level again. Now, after three surgeries, she is back on the field playing better than ever!

We're so happy Bella got to attend this incredible event!

“My favorite part of this program was observing orthopedic surgeons in the operating room. The firsthand experience of witnessing the dynamic nature and behind-the-scenes of operations helped me gain a deeper appreciation of the intellectual and physical demands of surgical specialties,” said a 2025 participant.
