We are so proud of Norristown Police Department Officer Joe Peterson, Abington Township Police Dept., PA Officer Rob Davis, and Abington Township Animal Control Officer Ron Griffith, formerly of the NYPD.

Last night, these three officers were honored by NAMI Montgomery County with the Criminal Justice Award in recognition of their openness, vulnerability, and bravery in coming forward and sharing their mental health recovery stories on film with OC87 Recovery Diaries as part of its "Beneath the Vest: First Responder Mental Health" film series. These officers are helping decrease the stigma surrounding mental health issues in police culture and are helping other officers understand that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of bravery.

We were honored to have Joe Peterson speak at our May 4th Ellipses Ensemble concert for first responder mental health and we send our warm congratulations to Joe, Rob, and Ron on this well-deserved honor.

We had a wonderful concert series this weekend. Check out these pictures our Catchafire HQ volunteer, Rick Urbanowski Photography, took at our Saturday afternoon concert. He did an incredible job of sensitively capturing the vibe of the event. Thank you, Rick and Catchafire! (Stay tuned for photos from last night's Ethical Society Concert by Chloe Cooper.)

February 23, 1PM concert at Holy Trinity Church in West Chester, PA. Photographs by Rich Urbanowski Photography.

Can't make it to the Philadelphia Ethical Society tonight for our 7:30 pm concert? Fear not! It shall be Facebook Live'd! That's right, you can watch our whole "Acts of Kindness" concert in your jammy-jams from the comfort of your own home (we'd rather see you in person, though-- you can come in your pajamas, too, if you want). If you can't come and would like to donate to Ellipses Ensemble to support our mission and help us continue the work we do around mental health stigma reduction, advocacy, and su***de awareness, please make a tax-deductible donation here: https://www.ellipsesensemble.org/support-ee.html

There is more.

Through a series of public concerts, and in conjunction with original documentaries, the Ellipses Ensemble aims to decrease stigma and increase awareness surrounding mental health. The Ellipses Ensemble was named as such to infer “There is more.” Concerts are curated according to that mantra, finding the intersection of music and storytelling. Together, music and documentary storytelling share the stage to produce interdisciplinary and culturally-relevant programs.
