[About Lyn's Breakfast & Lunch]
Before the show, "The Great Food Truck Race" and the trendy food trucks on University of Pennsylvania's campus, there was Lyn's. Lyn's originated in 1985. Quan, a Vietnam war refugee, built his own lunch truck by hand in hopes for a better future for his family. Together, Quan and his wife, Linh, served Chinese food across the street from Children's Hospital for 15 years. In 2006, Lyn's reopened on 36th and Spruce serving traditional American food - breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and their infamous chicken pita, chicken salad, chicken cheesesteak, anything chicken = amazing! How is it marinated?! A secret! While running their business, Quan and Linh raised two children, a daughter who has her ties to the Red and Blue, Emily (UPenn '08), and a son studying IT, Eric (Drexel '14). Over the years, not only has Quan and Linh raised a family, built a business from scratch, but they also have developed lasting friendships with their customers.
