Did you know, if you have a child with a disability, they have a right to assistive technology in school?

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requires that students with disabilities have access to assistive technology, which can include everything from pencil grips and modified scissors to swivel chairs, large mobile touch screens and eye-controlled communication devices.

Parents and staff often only think of high-tech assistive technology, but this act applies to all types of assistance and should be available to you.

Students with disabilities may be missing out on valuable assistive technology, a new report finds, due to limited awareness among school staff and other issues.

Today we celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science, with a special focus on a woman who also lives with a disability.

Farida Bedwei is a software engineer who was born in Nigeria. Farida was born with cerebral palsy but says it has helped her to become humble and patient and is no obstacle in reaching her goals.

Her work has had an international impact on multiple industries and she created a superhero with Cerebral Palsy named Karmzah, who gets her power from her crutches that she needs to use and features in a series of comic books!
