This email changed everything.
In 2020, .samtooley reached out to me and suggested we start a podcast.
Everything inside of me knew it was a good idea even though we had no idea what it would look like or where it would lead.
The Pursuit Podcast was born.
We struggled our way through the first few episodes and then found a groove.
[our first episode was recorded in two separate rooms of Sam's apartment over zoom because we couldn't figure out how to connect two mics to one computer π]
We started to schedule guests (many of whom were entrepreneurs) and it became clear that the full time job that I had worked so hard to get (doctorate degree) made it hard to be flexible.
That's when Sam sent this email (slide 2).
He didn't mean anything with it.
But it stuck with me (slide 3).
I wanted to record a podcast at 9am on a random THURSDAY like the other entrepreneurs around me not because that date and time matter but because....
I wanted complete ownership over how I spent MY TIME (and life). The seed was planted and just over 8 months later, I quit said full time job to start .endure.
We're now 5+ years in and this moment, recording the .mindset with .samtooley at 9am on a THURSDAY was FULL CIRCLE.
This chapter has reaffirmed that ready is a decision, that everything we want is on the other side of hard and that taking no risk might be the biggest risk of all.
If you want it, go get it.
Thank you .samtooley for inspiring g me more than you recognize and leading with action from the front.
See you on April 11 for the .endure event ππ€π₯ποΈπβ€οΈ
