Happy Pharmacist Appreciation Day! Pharmacists do so much more than fill prescriptions. They play a key role in our care team, sharing their expertise in medication management and supporting specialized needs, such as PrEP/PEP, HIV medication, and Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Every day, they answer questions and offer caring, confidential advice that helps build trust and keeps our patients on track.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a time to raise awareness about a cancer that impacts many people, including members of the LGBTQ community.

Regular screening can prevent over 8 out of 10 cases of cervical cancer. It also helps find some cancers early and saves lives.

Anyone with a cervix should follow the screening guidelines (https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/cervical-cancer/detection-diagnosis-staging/cervical-cancer-screening-guidelines.html) and make an appointment for a screening today!

As these final days of the year arrive, we want to say something simple, clear, and deeply felt: thank you.

Your support has carried us through one of the most challenging years LGBTQ healthcare has faced in a long time. Your partnership has meant stability where instability is the norm. We want to speak plainly today about what we’re seeing — not in policy conversations or funding charts, but inside our own waiting rooms and exam spaces.

Every day, more people are turning to Mazzoni Center because their options elsewhere are shrinking. Some have lost coverage. Some have been turned away from providers who no longer feel safe offering care to our community. Some simply cannot find another place where they will be treated with dignity.

We are doing everything possible to meet this need — but the strain is real.

- Primary care for patients who have nowhere else to go.
- Behavioral health services for people carrying trauma intensified by an increasingly hostile climate.
- HIV care that must not be interrupted, ever.
