Our therapist Emily discusses ways you can challenge the impulse to feel “fine” “good” “okay” and really understand how you’re doing and what you’re feeling. 💭

How do you practice checking in with yourself? Let us know in the comments! 💬

Where are the eldest daughters at??🙋🏾‍♀️ In our final week of our burnout series, Courtney Ragin, LMFT, discusses relational burnout and how it affects eldest daughters.

Key highlights:
-Eldest daughters may experience burnout due to the multiple roles they have in their family: role model, mediator, and emotional caretaker.

-One way to prioritize your needs as an eldest daughter is by setting boundaries with family.

-A skill to reduce people-pleasing is practicing the response “Let me think about it”. This gives you space to consider whether or not you have capacity to meet the request.

✨ The holidays are officially behind us, and we’re diving into the final long stretch of winter. ❄️ While the festive season was full of joy and excitement, winter months can feel a little... bleak. Whether it’s due to Seasonal Affective Disorder or just the natural dip in energy during the colder days, we can all experience a little more gloom during this time of year. But don’t worry—there are ways to combat the winter blues! 💙

Here are a few tips to help you feel brighter during the darker months:

Get outside – Even if it’s cold, sunlight (or even cloudy skies) can help boost your mood. A brisk walk or time in nature can work wonders. 🌞

Stay active – Exercise releases those feel-good endorphins! Whether it’s a cozy yoga session at home or a fun winter sport, movement matters. 🏃🏽‍♀️⛷️

Practice self-care – Pamper yourself with warm baths, skincare routines, or indulging in hobbies that bring you joy. 🛁🎨

Stay connected – Even if social events slow down, make time to check in with loved ones through calls or virtual hangouts. 🤗

Embrace cozy vibes – Light candles, drink warm beverages, and create a comforting atmosphere at home. 🌟☕️

Consider a mood-boosting supplement – Vitamin D or light therapy can help if you’re lacking in sunlight. ☀️

It’s all about taking small steps to nurture yourself and embrace the season for what it is. You’ve got this! 🌱💙
