Many people came to our funeral home today to pay their respects to a man that was loved. Three people eulogized him, and all three spoke really, really well (awesome to witness). There was sadness, but a lot of laughter mixed in, as they described the departed: funny, loyal, present and always checking in on those that he cared about. He was a good dancer and the life of the party...the playlist of songs chosen to honor him was a throwback set that would take you to back to 1990 (incredible) Originally from Harrowgate, the departed had a strong group of childhood friends that came out to support his wife, mother, children and siblings. As I get older, I have come to realize, that no matter what neighborhood we came from, death of a friend brings people back to a place that is centered .... understanding that we are all connected, no matter our background. I'm an extremely proud Mayfair guy (being more proud is not possible)....but I can completely understand why these people from Harrowgate are just as proud of who they are and what they represent. It was a beautiful day honoring one of their own.
Rest In Peace
