The Program for Diversity & Inclusion (PDI) supports the educational mission of the Perelman School of Medicine by promoting an inclusive, welcoming, supportive and engaged medical student community. The PDI is led by Horace DeLisser, MD, Associate Dean for Diversity & Inclusion and three Assistant Deans for Diversity and Inclusion: Cindy Christian, MD, Benoit Dubé, MD, and Roy Hamilton, MD, all of whom are available to students weekly during office hours. An essential component of the PDI is the Diversity & Inclusion Student Advisory Committee (DISAC), a student advisory group composed of representatives from each class and our core cultural affinity groups. DISAC identifies students’ needs and ensures that the voices of students are represented, assists in program development, and serves as a means of communication between CDI, cultural affinity groups, and the medical student body. In addition, the PDI coordinates its efforts with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid and the Office of Student Affairs within Academic Programs, as well as collaborates with institutional partners such as the Office of Inclusion and Diversity (OID), the Alliance of Minority Physicians (AMP) and the Center of Excellence for Diversity in Health Education and Research (COE).

The faculty and staff in the Program for Diversity & Inclusion (PDI) are available to ALL students for support and guidance as part of our mission to foster the emotional wellness of students.
