HENRIETTA LACKS (1920–1951)

Without consent, her cells changed the world. 🔬

Henrietta Lacks’ cancer cells, known as HeLa cells, became one of the most important medical tools in history—used in cancer research, vaccines, and even COVID-19 treatments. Yet, for years, her family received no recognition or compensation. Today, we honor Henrietta Lacks for her involuntary yet invaluable contribution to medicine. 💜

Honoring the Start of Ramadan 🌙
As Ramadan begins, we extend warm wishes to our Muslim seniors, families, and caregivers observing this sacred and meaningful month. Ramadan is a time of faith, reflection, prayer, and connection.

For the caregivers of MYIAH, this is an opportunity to show support through patience, cultural understanding, and compassion. Simple gestures—such as respecting fasting times, helping adjust daily routines, and creating a calm, comfortable environment—can make a meaningful difference.

Ramadan Mubarak to all who observe. 🤍
