Eating “plant-based” doesn’t automatically protect your brain — quality is everything.
A new 11-year study of 93,000 adults found:
Healthy plant foods* → 12% _lower_ dementia risk
Unhealthy plant foods* → 6% _higher_ dementia risk
Even better news? People who cut back on ultra-processed plant foods later in life still lowered their risk by 11%. It’s not too late to make the switch.
Think more veggies, beans, berries, and whole grains. Less fried foods, refined grains, and added sugar.
