In Memoriam: Honoring Nancy Cassada Nelson

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our longtime board member and friend, Nancy Cassada Nelson, who served the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania with dedication and distinction from 2010 to 2023. During her tenure, she held the positions of Vice President and First Families Chair, leading GSP's lineage society with passion, precision, and care.

Nancy was deeply committed to the mission of preserving and sharing family history. She generously gave not only her time and expertise but also her personal resources to support our programs and members. Beyond our organization, she shared her knowledge lecturing at local libraries and conferences, and serving as a dedicated member of various genealogical and historical societies such as the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Central Jersey Genealogy Club and The Chesterfield Township Historical Society.

We will remember Nancy for her leadership, unwavering dedication, and tireless advocacy for genealogy and history. Her legacy will live on through the countless researchers she inspired and the work she helped build.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
