Today I attended Mayor Cherelle Parker’s press conference at Thee Pink Plate Café, and I’m so glad I showed up. Hearing the facts directly from her team brought clarity to the DEI conversation — federal mandates left her with no choice, and her plan moving forward shows real commitment to supporting small minority-owned businesses.

I also loved seeing Thee Pink Plate Café — a mother-and-daughter–owned gem — highlighted and celebrated. They created a warm atmosphere and served an amazing meal.

Today was a reminder to listen, learn, and uplift our local leaders and businesses.
