What Dr. Peter Attia Teaches Us About Training for Life
If you caught Dr. Peter Attia on 60 Minutes, you know he’s shifting the entire conversation around health, aging, and performance. His message?
It’s not just about living longer — it’s about living stronger.
Attia focuses on healthspan: the years we stay capable, energetic, and engaged. Through Outlive and The Drive, he translates complex science into simple, actionable strategies around fitness, nutrition, sleep, and emotional well-being.
And honestly… his message couldn’t align more with Elevate.
At Elevate, we train for transformation, community, and longevity. Your body is your vehicle for your story, your family, your future. We’re not just preparing you for a 10K; we’re helping you build a life you love, decades into the future.
Key Takeaways from Attia’s “Marginal Decade”
🏃♂️ How you train today determines the quality of your later years
💥 Medicine 3.0 = proactive health, not reactive care
💨 VO₂ max, muscle mass & connection are major predictors of long-term vitality
🧠 Strength isn’t about looks. It preserves cognition, mobility & independence
What This Means for Your Training at Elevate
Strength > aesthetics
Building real strength is one of the most powerful investments you can make. It’s your foundation for long-term health, confidence, and independence.
Train like an athlete… for life
Lower-body strength, core stability, mobility, balance, and VO₂ max all work together to help you move well at 40, 60, 80+.
Longevity isn’t luck — it’s practice
Regular assessments, progressive training, and thoughtful coaching set you up for decades of feeling strong and capable.
If you want to train for your “marginal decade” — not just the next event — we’d love to support you.
Send us a DM or talk to a coach to get started.

Confidence grows in community.
When we move together, encourage each other, and share the journey, well-being becomes something bigger than fitness — it becomes connection.
Here, everyone’s welcome to show up exactly as they are.
How are you showing up for yourself?
11/12/2025
Well-being isn’t built overnight — it’s built in moments.
Every time you stretch, walk, breathe deeply, or choose to move, you’re building strength and confidence from the inside out.
Progress is personal Let's celebrate yours!

Confidence doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from showing up for yourself.
When we take care of our bodies, our energy and outlook change. That’s where real confidence begins: one small choice for your well-being at a time.
What’s one thing you’ve done lately that made you feel proud?

Twice a year we celebrate Elevation Day. We close up shop early, reflect, align, and show direction for where we’re going.
We talked all things . and hosted our team for a workout, and shared ideas.
We wrapped up the day !
“Two is greater than one, but only if two work as one.” TEAMWORK
Thanks everyone for making it a great day!

👹💪 The Monster Game that Empowers Every Body
If you’ve ever chased a little one around the house while pretending to be the “Monster,” you know it’s more than play. It’s sprinting, dodging, crawling, laughing, and moving in ways that feel effortless because you’re having fun.
That’s the lesson kids give us every day: fitness doesn’t have to feel like a chore. When movement feels like play, it sticks. When it’s tied to connection, it lasts.
At Elevate, that’s what we’re about. Not just sets and reps, but moments of joy, strength, and shared energy. The kind that remind you movement can be just as fun as a game of Monster.
Build strength. Build connection. Build memories.
What’s your “grown-up” version of the Monster game?
Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

Crawling isn’t just for babies.
It’s one of the most underrated movements in fitness that teaches coordination, core strength, and stability in ways traditional exercises can’t.
When you crawl, you’re training your body to move the way it was designed—integrating strength, balance, and control all at once. Plus, it challenges your mind and muscles together.
✅ Builds core stability
✅ Improves shoulder + hip mobility
✅ Enhances coordination
✅ Gets your heart rate up (yes, it’s a workout!)
Next time you hit the floor, try a few rounds of crawling—you’ll be surprised at how powerful this “primal” movement feels.
Who’s ready to add crawling back into their routine?

Thank you for continuously showing up for yourself, others, and Elevate! Cheers to the next 10 years.
The 🏺 💀 and ⏳ are a tribute Memento Mori art. Traditionally this style uses symbols like skulls, hourglasses, and flowers as a reminder of life’s brevity and an invitation to live with meaning.
For us, this isn’t about looking back on the last 10 years. It’s about leaning forward into the next 10. Choosing to live with purpose, presence, and strength. TOGETHER.
Thank you for being part of the Elevate Community!

When I first saw the space that would become Elevate, it was tucked away, hidden, and overlooked. Most saw four walls with no potential.
And yet, I knew there was A LOT of possibility.
I pictured movement, people challenging themselves, and connection filling the room. You're greeted by name, and your energy shifting the moment they stepped inside.
A place where strangers become friends, new friends start showing up for each other, and then the formation of a community.
And that’s what Elevate has become. A space where you challenge yourself, with the support and connection of others.
Over 10 years, this space has mirrored our clients’ journeys. What was once closed off now echoes with determination, laughter, and growth.
Clients who believed there was a better way of living, now set goals, lift heavy, and live with confidence.
Team members grow into leaders that they naturally are, and taking on challenges of constantly bettering themselves.
The space has transformed and building a community where we all look forward to being our best selves.
Here’s to the space we’ve built, the people who fill it, and the next 10 years of growing. Salud!

elevate Health & Performance is a premier private training facility. We believe that fitness is about more than looking good.
We work tirelessly with our clients to make sure you feel good, live well and stay healthy. To get you there our dedicated experts focus on personal training, physical therapy, dietician counseling and therapeutic massage. Always one-on-one.
Opened in fall 2015 and located in the heart of Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, elevate provides genuinely personal one-on-one training, physical therapy and nutrition guidance. Clients work with trainers and specialists to develop tailored regimens, with respect to their physical limitations, needs, and desired areas of focus. Owner Hector Bones, an exercise physiologist and certified personal trainer with a background in exercise science, has assembled a team of committed and passionate professionals with varying degrees, certifications and expertise in a wide range of training and health programs. Those include: kinesiology, exercise sports science, physical and massage therapy, nutrition, sports medicine, prenatal, geriatric, and weight loss. Bones and elevate are at the forefront of a wellness revolution, where optimal fitness and wellness is achieved at any age and ability.
Bones and his team create authentic partnerships with clients building proactive, preventative health to ultimately create a better quality of life. Individualized programs factor age, skill level, existing medical conditions and sport-specific needs. In addition to private personal training, elevate offers one-on-one physical therapy and nutrition counseling, completing the wellness experience. Also, elevate has established relationships with top-notch health professionals in the region, allowing them to offer quality-driven recommendations for any specialized needs that require further attention.
At elevate Health & Performance, members are encouraged to show up so, unlike many gyms, it is membership-free, and guests have the flexibility to pay as they train. Their sessions grant them full access to the best fitness and rehabilitation equipment on the market, notably Keiser, which uses air resistance to train, Cybex’s strength and cardio equipment and NuStep recumbent cross trainers. Additionally, elevate offers luxurious amenities, such as private changing rooms with full showers, stocked with fresh towels every day, and a variety of high-end personal grooming items, including the Kiehls product line. Clients also enjoy a complimentary grab-n-go pantry, stocked with filtered water, Elixr coffee, Fage yogurt, fresh fruit and juices from Iovine Brothers, and other nutritious options. Sessions are all-inclusive and there are never unforeseen costs. Clients may purchase training packages for sessions at discounted rates.
Before opening his own practice, Bones trained clients in traditional gym settings where he heard a common gripe: they were uncomfortable working out around so many others. Whether they were intimidated, shy, or just preferred something a bit more personal and private. Furthermore, Bones wanted to approach health beyond the workout session. He felt optimal wellness required a 360-degree approach - from the appropriate training program to the best nutritional plan, combined with injury prevention, it all works hand-in-hand, so he was inspired to find a solution. He opened elevate in fall 2015. Eventually in winter 2018, to accommodate client needs and the addition of their physical therapy practice, he added a second, larger studio, located directly above the original 1,900-square-foot studio. Today, elevate Health & Performance devotes more than 5,000 square-feet to creating optimal wellness for their clients.
Prior to opening elevate, Bones, a native of York, PA, first became interested in fitness as a multi-sport student athlete in high school. He went on to Temple University, earning a B.S. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science. He spent six years as a personal trainer at Philadelphia’s The Sporting Club at The Bellevue and, over the years, he earned numerous health & fitness certifications, including BioPrint, TRX and pre- and post-natal.
