‘A Day🗓 in the Life’ of TWO Aramark Dietetic Interns!
Two of our interns, Olivia Reeder and Jordan Schulz, volunteered at a local church for their annual tamale-making event, which helps fund many of their community outreach👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 programs. Each year leading up to the holidays🦃, the church prepares and sells hundreds of homemade tamales, and the proceeds support services like English classes👩‍🏫, food distribution for families in need, guitar🎸 lessons, basic electricity and HVAC classes, and a ministry for children with special needs.

Jordan said, “We spent the day helping with the full tamale-making process with other community volunteers. We mixed masa, filled and wrapped tamales, and prepped large batches for cooking👩🏼‍🍳. It was such a meaningful experience learning how much work goes into making tamales and having volunteers who grew up making them teach us. It was a great reminder of how food brings people👨‍👨‍👧‍👧 together and how valuable it is to learn from other cultures!"

Intern Spotlight💡
My name is Martina Saa, and I completed my undergrad🎓 in Lubbock, Texas at Texas Tech University. I graduated in May of 2025 with a degree in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics. I’m currently pursuing my graduate degree👩‍🎓 through Texas Tech as well and plan on graduating in August of 2026. During undergrad I was able to participate in numerous nutrition related volunteer experiences. I was a member of the Student Nutrition Organization where I learned about nutrition in the community via guest speakers, volunteered at the South Plains food bank, and learned valuable aspects about the field of dietetics each meeting. In my last semester, my class also went to the Boys and Girls club👦🏼👧🏻 where we taught weekly nutrition education as well as physical activities to middle school aged children.

Around Thanksgiving🦃 we got the opportunity to teach elementary school aged children the different food groups along with the different vitamins they contain and why we should eat them! Whether it was in medical nutrition therapy classes or volunteering in the community, I gained hands-on knowledge in both the food service and clinical side of dietetics through Texas Tech. I’m more than excited to apply my knowledge through my dietetic internship and learn more every day!

Outside of the classroom I enjoy activities that get me up and moving. I love workout classes, going on walks🚶🏻‍♀️, hiking, swimming🏊🏼, farmers markets, traveling🛅, and trying new foods and coffee spots. My family and friends are my support system, and I wouldn’t be where I’m at without them.

A 'DAY🗓 IN THE LIFE' of an Aramark Intern:
Leila was about to demonstrate and educate👩🏻‍🏫 a patient, who was on continuous tube feeding via PEG. She reviewed with patient and family the new bolus tube feeding extension and Prosource protein packet to be used after discharge🏥🏠 when transitioning to a bolus regimen. The Prosource product provides 20g of protein and 80 kcal per packet.

Intern Spotlight💡
Hello! My name is Olivia Reeder and I’m super excited to begin my journey as an Aramark Dietetic Intern! I graduated🎓 from Texas Tech University in May with my BS in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics and am currently working on my MS👩‍🎓 in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics online through TTU as well!

Throughout most of my undergraduate journey I worked as a Student Nutrition Assistant for Texas Tech Football. I began my time there as a volunteer and eventually became an intern! I learned a lot through this role and it expanded my passion for the field of dietetics! I also worked as a barista for 7Brew for a little bit during my undergraduate career. This experience taught me how to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. I wouldn’t trade my time as a barista for anything!

In my free time I enjoy playing pickleball🎾, going to the movies🎬🍿, and trying new recipes👩‍🍳 and restaurants!

A 'Day🗓 in the Life' of an Aramark Intern!
Alli was in the Cancer Center for the first two weeks of her clinical I rotations👩‍⚕️. Alli had the opportunity to attend two bell ceremonies where patients gather with their family👪 and providers to celebrate their completion of treatment💉💊. Being able to attend a bell ceremony is an inspiring experience!

Intern Spotlight💡
My name is Ben Ramirez, and I am very excited to be a Dietetic Intern through Aramark! I completed my DPD program at Texas Tech University, where I also received my M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics🎓 in August. At TTU I gained significant leadership experience, including administrative responsibilities and service planning, through my fraternity positions. I have also gained professional dietetic experience through Texas Tech DPD classes, such as nutrition counseling👨🏻‍🏫 skills and community outreach opportunities for children and adults at the South Plains Food Bank and Boys & Girls Club in Lubbock.

During graduate school, I enjoyed researching the effects of sugar-sweetened beverages versus artificially sweetened beverages on obesity, as well as the impact of the Mediterranean Diet in adults with Type 2 Diabetes. My professional interests include nutrition education and sports dietetics.

Outside of academics, I enjoy quality time with family and friends and being active, whether at the gym🏋🏽 or walking🚶🏻‍♂️. Music is a massive part of my life; you can always catch me listening to it as I find it relaxing, especially when I am studying or working. I have recently become a dog🐾 dad and have learned quite a bit of what it means to be a paw parent!

Intern Spotlight!💡
My name is Sadie West, and I’m thrilled to be a part of Aramark’s Dietetic Internship Program this year! I’m a proud Texas Tech graduate, having earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees🎓 in Nutritional Sciences (Wreck ’em!). During my time at Tech, I gained valuable leadership and food service experience as a Front-of-House and Bar Manager at Aspen Creek Grill. That role deepened my appreciation for teamwork👥, nutrition🍓, and the behind-the-scenes magic of food service operations.

Outside of nutrition, I’m all about creativity and adventure. You can usually find me baking up something sweet, crocheting a cozy blanket, or hitting the open road on my motorcycle🏍. I also love playing games with friends (anything that involves laughter and a little competition)! I’m excited to grow, learn, and make the most of this opportunity with Aramark!

'A Day in the Life'🗓 of an Aramark Intern!
Ben Ramirez has been gaining new experiences through observing various nutrition screenings, assessments📝, and interventions👨‍⚕️. Ben got to observe his preceptors👩‍⚕️ place a new nasogastric tube⚕ using the Corpak tube feeding technology.
Ben has expressed his gratefulness of being able to see new interventions🔬 that can help patients improve their overall wellbeing. Whether that be through dietary modifications🍐🍞, supplementation💊 or education👨🏻‍🏫, Ben is excited❣ to make positive➕ impacts with his patients.

My name is Catherine Qin, and I am very excited to be a Dietetic Intern through Aramark! I obtained my bachelor’s degree🎓 in nutrition and completed my DPD from Texas A&M University. I am also currently completing my master's👩‍🎓 in nutrition through A&M.

Professionally, I have done lab🔬 experience and screened studies for systematic reviews at the Texas A&M Evidence Center. Additionally, I have held several tutoring/TA👩🏻‍🏫 positions throughout college, which have reinforced my passion for teaching.

Outside of my academic and professional life, I enjoy cooking👩🏻‍🍳🍳, spending time with family and friends👭, and playing with my dog🐾🐕.
