Mansfield Place Mansfield Place, a 60-bed skilled nursing unit within Broaddus Hospital, places equal emphasis on quality of life and quality of care for residents.

Our goal is to bring residents to their highest level of personal independence in a comfortable, dignified environment. We encourage family members to make advance visits to see the active, caring lifestyle their loved one will enjoy. Mansfield Place is certified by Medicare and Medicaid and also accepts insurance and private pay residents.

This holiday season, we’re hoping to bring extra warmth, joy, and connection to the wonderful residents in our nursing home — and we need your help.

We are inviting members of our community to send Christmas cards filled with love, encouragement, and holiday cheer. Many of our residents treasure handwritten notes, and a simple card can brighten their day in a beautiful, meaningful way. Please limit it to one card from schools or churches, we had an abundance of cards last year.

Whether it’s a heartfelt message, a favorite holiday memory, a drawing from a child, or just a kind wish, your card can make someone feel remembered and deeply valued.

What are we thankful for? Our dedicated dietary crew, who consistently deliver exceptional service behind the scenes, ensuring our resident's nutritional needs are met. They expertly prepare around 186 meals daily and meticulously clean 1,872 plates, plate covers, bowls, cups, and silverware utensils. Notably, this figure excludes the pans used in food preparation. The teamwork demonstrated by our dietary crew is truly commendable, as they not only cater to our residents but also provide meals for the public and staff at the cafeteria. The Tygarts Valley Conservation District Board’s grant award, which included two wheelchair accessible garden planters and the unexpected gift of "Lettuce Grow", an indoor self-watering farmstand, complete with necessary tools. Residents enjoyed hosting a trick-or-treating event for Philippi Elementary School students. We appreciate the efforts of all who made this event possible, including bus drivers, teachers, staff volunteers, housekeeping, maintenance staff, the Activities Department, and the many others who supported this effort. The candy donations from staff added some extra sweetness - many thanks! We added the pumpkin stickers to some of the faces intentionally for privacy of the children.
