Osun carries a mirror for a reason. This mirror is not about vanity but about loving your self-image. People often say she deals with love, but she has nothing to do with you loving someone you’re having s*x with. No, Osun’s love is about SELF-LOVE. That is what the mirror she carries symbolizes.
It is also the reason the Odu Ifa say that when the orisa attempted to build a world without Osun (self-love of one’s self-image), everything they built kept failing. When they went to Olodumare to complain, He first asked them, “Where is Osun (self-love of your self-image)?”
They responded, “We didn’t think we needed her (Self-love).”
Olodumare chuckled and said,”Nothing you attempt to build can endure without Osun (self-love). Return to her, apologize, and beg her to join you in your work.”
The source of the pure Black person’s oppressed condition today is obvious; we lack self-love of our self-image. The majority of Blacks hate their own pure West African image and pure West African culture. They only see it as valuable if it is mixed with some other race. They want it mixed with Arab, Indian, European, ANYTHING but just West African. And if they can’t mix it they will literally bleach it to make it looked mixed. As a result of relying on other races to value your own, you become oppressed by those other races.
Only when we are able to not only look at ourselves in pure form in the mirror—midnight black with broad facial features—and see it as worthy of being the Supreme Being’s image, Osun, will we be able to break free of oppression. Only when we ask Osun to join us and to be our mirror, can we become true Human Beings again. ✍️IFA ORISA SCIENTIFIC SPIRITUALALITY
